Blossoming?   BLOSSOMING?  Mark is exactly what he always was.  Somewhat serviceable with a good team around him and a lead.  However, looks lost and uncomfortable in the pocket when an opponent knows he must throw and still turns the ball over at least once every game, and sometimes more.  Often in untimely and horrendously bad fashion.

Blossoming.... LMAO

Well, he still has shown a mastery of his craft by throwing TDs to defensive lineman.

marc has running backs, top wideouts, and a coach with an imagination.  He still misses wide open guys and throws his picks.  The results are better, but not exactly encouraging.  Just shows what talent does for QBs

Terrible offensive coordinators for him, limiting the playbook, not letting him do his thing, goes to Philly and starts sucking less. Guess what? He still sucks. No thanks. I'd rather call and find out what Major Applewhite is up to lately.

Gotta love Major! Hook Em!

A thread like this proves the point that no one in a management position of an NFL

team should listen to the media / public.  The media / public just throws things out

there with no basis in facts and runs with it.  BLOSSOMING???  Sanchez is still the

same inconsistent, inaccurate, turnover prone QB the Jets had for 4+ years.  Stop it

10 td's  9int's. What's changed? He still stinks.

I'll credit him with 11 TDs. A rushing TD is worth just as much as a passing TD, but all of them weren't useful TDs (game already over).

But you're forgetting 6 fumbles, luckily losing only 2 of them.

Total = 11 TDs, 11 turnovers in 6.5 games.

Even still, no stats take into account all the missed opportunities on all those uncatchable pass attempts to wiiiiiiide open receivers, a number of which would have been sure TDs as his man had no one left to beat if the throw was there.

One thing is certain. Chip Kelly is praying that Foles will be healed for the last week and the playoffs so he can get that god awful turnover machine Suck off the field. It may need to happen by week 17 to keep.Suck from playing them right out of the playoffs altogether

Dallas needs to beat Indy next week or Philly still likely makes it over them.

as a huge Cowboy hater I have a huge dilemma here

I am in the finals in my money league and have Demarco Murray.  I need him to go but if he sits there's no way Dunbar can run the ball 20+ times a game so it'd almost guarantee Romo screws up and throws some picks.

What do I want to happen?  Money or Cowboy loss?

sanchez is what we thought he was!

would I take him over what the jets have this year? absolutely. but that's not saying much.

he's not as bad as some Jets fans thought he was (the worst QB to ever play in the NFL) on his way out, but he's far from "blossoming".

The media wanted so bad for Mark Sanchez to do great in Philly and stick it in our face.  Jesus Mary and Joseph is there anyone at ESPN or one of these stupid channels that isn't a Giants or Patriots fan?

I wonder if this is true or just us Jets fan insecurity...

I agree with you - it's feels like that to me...Just not sure if it's us or reality...

I don't recall anyone saying he was the worst QB to ever play in the NFL. But if you have a bad QB who coaches and coordinators see something in based on camp and mid-season practices, not to mention an owner who has invested heavily in him, then he just has to be off the team before anyone else gets the bright idea that maybe he's turned the corner.

Sometimes, with some players, it's better to just move on altogether. If what we have now is even worse, it makes it that much easier to remedy it ASAP instead of wondering what-ifs and maybes, which may influence decisions in free agency and the draft.

Just end it clean and decisively, like the proper way to rip off one of Johnson's Band-Aids. Don't slow-peel it off by keeping him around.

They did the right thing by cutting him after no one offered up even a conditional 7th rounder in 2018 for him.

I'm from JI.  there were plenty of people there (some of them i see here now) who said Sanchez was the worst QB ever, that he would be out of the league in a year, or in the CFL.  i thought he got a little too much criticism.  but i agree that jets needed to move on from him.

I last posted on JI in 2005, so that's my excuse.

Worst ever? Not even close. Worst starter in the league? He was very much that at times.

The Sanchez criticism was warranted. He sucked. Physically he had (and has) obvious talent, but he is mental mush that probably doesn't surface much in practices. When things are going well, like any athlete, he can get into a zone (which we liked to see if we could interrupt by running a wildcat play and putting him back behind center to pass on 2nd or 3rd and long). But he wasn't particularly good very often even without the wildcat type distractions and interruptions. He hit some players right on the mark, but so many of his passes that were completed required acrobatics and/or route alterations because the throws were good enough to be caught, but really they were off-target by a yard or so. It's the difference between a completed pass that moves the chains and a completed pass that goes for a long TD. We're seeing it still with the Eagles. He just misses so many wide open receivers even when the pass is caught, like a 52 yard bomb to a wide open Maclin that should have been an easy 65 yard TD, but wasn't because the throw was short by a few yards and Maclin had to slow down.

We drafted a backup QB with the 5th overall pick, and then extended him with top-10 QB money 3 years later.

Rich Gannon did nothing on his first 3 teams in 11 years then on his 4th he made 4 pro bowls and All Pro twice in 4 years.. However I don't think that will happen with Sanchez.. :winking0001:
