TomsRiverJet
We have been a happy Vios Triple Play customer since 2005. We had some early billing issues but since then it's been damn near perfect. Never an outage, good internet speed and no telephone issues. Comcast is wooing us back telling us we can everything the same and save about $125 a month. Same service etc, better upgraded DVR's. Plus I get the Red Zone free. Anybody been thru this? Gave them the initial go ahead for Mid Jan Install so we have time to mull it over. I should mention that this has no bearing on our Cell phones, they are with another carrier. Thoughts? Lil Bit Special
My mother in law and sister in law switched to Comcast from Verizon last year. Its been a horrible experience. They messed up the install multiple times (cable and internet). They messed up the billing multiple times. And some things they were promised never happened. Their customer service couldnt solve their problems for weeks. And they're stuck in a 2 year contract. They wish they never moved. They kept trying to get us to switch so they could get a discount or something... but there was no way in hell I was going to Comcast unless it was a deal too good to pass up... which it never is, To me, besides that frustrating experience, is the different channel lineup, DVR functionality, and change from what you're used to. We just moved to a new house, got Fios here but instead of using TiVO we are now using Verizon's DVR's... and I dont like it. I want my TiVo back... even though I had less on demand options. But the wife wont pay for it anymore.
Lil Bit Special
I would also suggest you get in writing exactly what they will be billing you for with Comcast and then go back to FiOS and ask them to lower their price or you're a goner. I dont trust any cable company especially when it comes to their idea of how much you'll actually be saving.
JustInFudge
I'm actually deciding between Uverse and Comcast as we speak. Was going to go with Comcast for the faster internet but I've been happy with Uverse who I've used in the past. Their internet sucks though...slow as hell. Cable portion was great. Never interruptions but pretty damn expensive.
#27TheDominator
Comcast is famous for offering you a good deal and then changing it 3 months later. I hate them with a passion. Every 3 months my bill is jacked and I have to call and fight with them. The only way I get them to honor prior agreements is by threatening to dump them. They have the concession on my building so I am screwed. If I didn't need to be online for work I would go with rabbit ears.
rillo
Have Comcast and I hate it. Awful company, but there's really no competition in the area...uverse internet is hot garbage.
