I wonder how much belicheat* paid for the playbook ?

This change comes after his passport, Jets playbook and his wife's anniversary gift were stolen out of his rental car after he brought Christmas presents up to his hotel at around 2:30 a.m. The next morning he came down to his rental car and found his luggage and his possessions had been stolen.

When the Jets released him, he said the franchise asked him if he had his iPad, charger or anything Jets affiliated. Due to the robbery, he did not and said he has to pay the Jets for them. He estimated he lost around $12,000 worth of items.

It's my understanding that the playbooks are iPad based.  While this makes them more desirable to steal (based on value), playbook material can be added and edited much more easily, or when the device/playbook gets stolen (or lost), playbook material can be deleted.  Terrific idea if you ask me.  Those old things were phone-book sized.  This sort of (interactive) playbook can make huge gains in player development.

"$12,000 worth of items"

...reminds me of that movie where the guy is reporting a car theft and tells his insurance agent that he had a "Rolex" brand stereo.

Or just put a lock on the ipad. Can't be recovered and in most cases.  It can't even be used no matter what you do as long as its icloud locked.

Apparently, the Jets didn’t tell cornerback Josh Thomas, “Don’t let your playbook be stolen.”  They apparently didn’t tell him other things, too.

Claimed Wednesday on waivers by the Lions after being cut by the Jets on Tuesday, Thomas met with the media and talked about the things he didn’t learn about in New York.

“I feel like I wasn’t given the attention necessary as far as being engaged from the coach-to-player standpoint and knowing the things I need to work on,” Thomas said, via Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com.  “It became where I was there as a player and wanting and desiring some feedback that wasn’t given.  So sometimes I may have been standing there with a [deer-in-headlight] look in my eyes trying to figure out what I needed to do.

“So at the same time, just from the past experiences, every organization operates differently — so it could be the way that the Jets operate.  I just want to be great.  I want to get better every day.  I look forward to enhancing something about my game every day, and [the Jets] were just more independent there.”

So what was his reaction to the first day in Detroit?

“It was refreshing, like, ‘Thanks for coaching me,'” Thomas said.

If the Lions make it to the playoffs, the message to the Jets could be, “Thanks for cutting me.”

Which could give other Jets players an idea.  An idea that could lead to a lot more playbooks being lost.

Why is anyone surprised by this the team is in turmoil this is why the Jets are 3-11. Watch other games on TV and watch how players are coached during the game especially the QB how they look at the I-Pad or the copies of defenses or offenses the other teams are using here none of that is done.

The Jets Idzik Woody and Rex deserve all this and more bad backlash and bad publicity best of all public humiliation.

Despite what it says about his own character those are some damning comments, even for a reserve.

This drives me crazy every time they're filming our sideline during games. U see the great ones like Manning, Rodgers, Luck, Brady throwing there copies around, because they're pissed that they missed some chances on certain plays. All that Geno does is walking/sitting on the sideline sipping on his Gatorde cup with nobody of the coaches even paying attention to him

Not really. He's just perpetuating nonsense because he's butthurt about getting canned. NFL coaching is all installation. There isn't a lot of instruction on technique, quarterbacks excepted. If he has special needs requiring individual attention it's his job to get himself a tutor.

And that is the coaches fault not to recognize his lackadaisical attitude and do something about it. I said this a thousand times Rex needs guys that don't need coaching, he expects professionalism and treats his players like men, when in actuality 75% of these guys are frat boys.

Eh...I'll double down it's a little bit of both.
