Rex to Falcons?

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports a "couple of sources" reiterated that Rex Ryan to the Falcons as their head coach "seems natural."

This isn't the first time we've read a Rex-to-Atlanta rumor. Ryan interviewed for the head-coaching job that Mike Smith eventually got in 2008. Now, Smith is likely done. The Falcons recently made the switch to a 3-4 defense. And while the offense is in fine shape only needing a piece here or there, the defense needs an overhaul. Nobody has ever doubted Ryan's coaching ability. He just needs to find the right guy to run the offense. Cole reports the Falcons would try to keep OC Dirk Koetter in place for 2015.

Mike Smith that moron dug his own grave when he signed up the Falcons for Hard Knocks. It was painfully obvious that they're gonna suck this year and that he has zero connection to the team. Zero passion. The Falcons/Ryan connection does make sense. They need an overhaul on defense, they're basically what we are except the other way around, we need an QB/offensive guru.

Ed Reed, Shaun Ellis, Ray Lewis, Revis, Ngata, Suggs, Cromarty, Bart ain't walking into Atlantas locker room door.

You think Rex D has looked bad this year for the Jets, Falcons have ZERO pass rush, lol.

In Hotlanta next year he'll look just like his twin at Nawlins.

Bad!

there are going to be 10 HC vacancies this offseason, Rex is good enough to get one of those jobs. Or put it another way there aren't 10 potential HC better than Rex. Not with his resume.

Rex's resume:

-overall losing record as a HC

-four non-winning seasons in a row

-four non-playoff seasons in a row

-zero division titles

-zero conference championships

-zero Super Bowl titles

-overrated defense that got progressively worse over the years

What owner in their right mind would hire a HC with that pathetic resume?

Sounds like Belichick before the Pats awarded him with a headcoaching job.

What was Mangini's and Herm's impressive resume that got them hired, in fact *traded for*?

Actually, what was Bellicheck's impressive resume in Cleveland that got him hired in NE?  Who would be stupid enough to hire a coach like that?

What was BB's resume before Kraft hired him?

All Jet fans need to learn there NFL history. The facts are that Belichick had the Browns in an upswing playing very well B4 Modell announced he was moving the team.

So, let's not rewrite history & as a long time Jet fan myself Belichick & Rex are polar opposites.

I hate Belichick but he coaches circles around Rex.

Look at the injuries they have had on defense this year, look at how well their special teams play, somehow they are always in the top of the league in forcing turnovers.

Honestly, I think the hardest thing Belichick deals with in this rivalry is probably having an overconfident team.

Rex is a dumb azz & a lousy Head Coach that hasn't improved one bit over the last 6 years.

Took over a 4-win Cleveland team, turned the roster by 90% and won the Division in his 4th year.

Much more impressive than what Rex did by taking over a 9-win Mangini team and driving it into the dirt.

So your point is while BB sucked, he didn't suck as much as Rex. Got it.

5-11 his final season in Cleveland.  That's quite the up swing!

5-13 with the Pats before Tom Brady.

5-11 in his final season.  Totally turned them around in Cleveland.

41-57 record as a Head Coach before Tom Brady.

God I would love to see Woody keep Rex & sign him to a 4 year deal so he can turn this roster over by 90% just to prove to Jet fans that he's a shaman.

Please stop posting if you are arguing that Rex is as good of a coach as Belichick.

I hate the Patriots as much as anyone here, LOATH them, but they literally came two c hairs away from winning 5 Superbowls!

A lucky helmet catch & a throw from Brady 3 inches to high to Welker thwarted them thank god.

True.  He went 6-10, 7-9, 7-9, then 11-5 before Modell announced the move.  They went 5-11 that year.

BB's resume before Tom Brady:

- embarrassing overall losing record has a Head Coach, 41-57

- 5 out of 6 losing seasons

- 5 out of 6 never reaching the playoffs

- 5 out of 6 not even .500

- zero division titles

- zero conference championships

- zero super bowl titles.

What owner in the right mind would hire a Head Coach with a pathetic resume like that?
