Jets Slated at #4 - List your guys

It is tempting to want to go O line at number four with all of the talent in this draft. But with a top five pick only a left tackle makes sense, but Brick is more than adequate and we have so many other holes. It would be great if Brick could play right tackle but he is not built for that and he is not built for guard. So the talent may not match the need re o line. Seems we have to go quarterback wide receiver or or pass rusher.

Mariotta will go No. 1, he has the physical tools to look great at the combine, so he'll cement his place as the top QB there.   We'll hear ton of stories about how everyone is so shocked at his athleticism, and all.    He also will help with the Bucs because they are really a solid team without a QB.  Add a running QB element to Vjax and Evans, and they are dangerous.

I think the TN pick is going to be the one that sets to tone for our draft.  I think they are desperate for a QB, but I could see them going after a veteran like Cutler too.  But they are in prime spot here to take a QB, just needs to see how Winston checks out in their evaluation.  FWIW, I believe the coach prefers guys that are tall with very good arms, which Winston fits into, so my theory is that he's the pick here.

Oakland takes Cooper, they invested a top pick in Mack last year, so I think they try to go offense and get Carr some weapons.

And we're picking from the DL guys.  Williams is really nice, but not someone we need right now.   Gregory is really talented too.    But in this case, I trade down if possible to a team that needs DL.  The team that would make sense is the Falcons at 8, they need a lot of defensive help especially in rushing the passer.  If we can move down to 8, and pick up extra picks, I think the value would be worth it.  So my guess right now is to trade down.

The only way I want to stay at 4, would be if one of the top two QBs are on the board, and we think either of them can be studs.  Otherwise, trading down makes the most sense in this draft to me.

I think we should target, in no particular order:

I. Jameis Winston

II. Amari Cooper

III. Landon Collins

For Day 2, I am hoping that they can somehow get Shawn Oakman who will likely fall out of the first round.  His size 6'9 280 would make him a great candidate to fill Calvin Pace's spot on D- that OLB/DE hybrid position.

Imagine the defensive front with the addition of a guy like Oakman, a seven foot monster.

I don't understand the Landon Collins pick.  He's a SS.  We have that in spades.

Also, Shawn Oakman is the Gholstonest player in the draft.

Mariota, cooper, strong, and Collins.but if we cant get the top 2 we need to trade down I like the trade with the falcons we get their 1st and 3rd, this is a WR and OT draft is very deep.Winston is a good player but this kid will get in trouble here and out the nfl in 3 years

Our secondary is in shambles... I highly doubt Dawan Landry has more than another season after this one.  If we did draft Collins, he would be the best player in the secondary day one that he came in.  He is not the hit or miss tackler like Pryor.  He is consistent in coverage and can also tackle really well- in my opinion a top 5 pick and the best defensive player in the draft.

How about a guy who starts off at RT and takes over at LT after a couple of years? RT is a real weak spot on our line IMHO. Immediate upgrade with long term value.

Better hope the Falcons don't win Sunday then - they'll be picking at 21 onwards if they win the division.

Assuming the top QB's are off the board, here are my Jets picks not in order, just my 4 favorites.

Shane Ray, DE Missouri - edge rusher the Jets have not had since John Abraham

Leonard Williams - DT - USC

Randy Gregory - DE - Nebraska

Kevin White- WR West Virginia
