Casserly will recommend Norv Turner to coach the Jets?

Hiring Norv Turner would certainly be a big gamble.

Not if you're talking him as the OC.  Just look at how the Browns offense performed without him compared to how they performed with him.  Then look at how Teddy Bridgewater is doing in Minnesota with Norv as his OC.  Dude has completed 64 % of his throws and over his last 5 games he has 9 TD's and just 5 INT's.  Over his last THREE games he's averaging 9.4 yards per attempt.  Granted one of those games was against our lousy secondary so maybe that one shouldn't count.  lol.

There's a very short list of OC's you can pair with a young/rookie QB and consider it a slam dunk hire.  Norv is on that list.  If we're trying to hire Bowles as our HC he'll need an old vet with a strong track record, like Norv, running the offense.

This story is stupid because Casserly is not going to be consulted in order to hire a new GM then tell that GM who he should hire as HC.

Some of these media guys are idiots

Only think they are idiots if you don't understand what their job actually is... attract eyeballs..

here he put in probably 30 seconds combined between thinking of it and typing it out and got linked on every jets message board. Don't see an idiot there

The only positive pieces to Norv's career came when he had:

1.) a Hall of Fame QB

2.) a very good QB

We only have QB's that are Martyr's (#10), Felons, and guys that need dribble bibs.

Norv can do nothing positive here.

Norv already has an OC job, only way Norv goes anywhere else is by becoming a HC, unless he gets fired which I doubt he will.

Please NO to Turner as HC!

This would be a move that would make sense for the Jets to make, considering our history for making bone-headed decisions.  Woody has finally made a solid football decision by bringing in Casserly to serve as a consultant for the upcoming GM/HC hiring process.  That's a very solid football move that's uncharacteristic of the Jets.  Having that solid process result in Turner being hired as the HC would be the typical of the Jets, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I don't understand the big deal about this.  Norv isn't my first choice either but everyone keeps b*tching about getting an offensive coach.  Turner failed before - so did Belicchik in Cleveland and he stunk up the joint in New England his first season and second season until Brady magically fell out the sky.
