the SEC is the worst conference EVER

Man, you guys are haters.

You know why ESPN blows the SEC? BECAUSE THEY WON SEVEN STRAIGHT F*CKING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Down year for the SEC. Congrats, rest of the nation. You still bow at the altar of the Southeastern Conference, though.

Last 3 years in the Big 6 bowls the SEC is 1-6. Sure appears to be more than just a "down year".

Best thing to happen to college football IMO.

The whole "speed thing" which morphed into "talent thing" took on a mind of it's own basically off of three games, Ohio State whoopings in 06 and 07. Then Notre Dame didn't help things in 2012. Everyone on this board does the same though though. ie...see: "Amari Cooper is now overrated" thread....Petty at 6 etc...

In '06 Florida was given a shot over an equally deserving Michigan team... with 1 loss Wisconsin, 1 loss Louisville, 2 loss LSU and 2 loss USC also shut out also.

In '07, 2 loss LSU jumped in from being SEVENTH the week before on account of major chaos and questionable voting. 2-loss Virginia Tech and Oklahoma had equally good claims. Virginia Tech was ahead of LSU heading into that final week and they both won their conference championships.

In '08, Florida was gifted in over a number of other 1-loss teams... including USC and Texas... in addition to undefeated Utah/Boise State (for the second straight year for Boise). Who knows if Florida wins a 4 team playoff with Oklahoma, Texas, and USC.

In '09, there were five undefeated teams... Texas and Alabama got the nod, with TCU, Cinci, and Boise being left out.

In '10, Auburn was undefeated and earned their way in... but TCU was also undefeated and there was 1 loss Stanford, Ohio State, and Wisconsin looming.

In '11, the SEC was gifted a championship by rematching Alabama and LSU. 1-loss Oklahoma State and Stanford were left on the outside looking in. Who knows if Andrew Luck could've beaten those defensive juggernauts who had piss pour offenses?

In '12, Notre Dame played Bama with 1-loss Oregon and Kansas State left out in favor of the tide. It probably would've gone down ND vs. Kansas State, Alabama vs. Oregon in the semis.

Then the nightmare ended in '13 with FSU triumphing over Auburn. Baylor and Michigan State were stuck on the outside looking in with 1-loss.

So in short... the only year that the SEC had an unequivocal claim to a spot in the final 2 was in 2010, every other year they got in over a comparable team. Even in 2010 they got in over undefeated TCU but TCU was still in a minor conference then. If the SEC had been treated with the same gloves as other conferences, they might've only had a representative in 2 of the BCS finals in that stretch. In particular, the PAC12 seems to have gotten the shaft very often in favor of an SEC team with comparable record/resume.

Pretty nice summary, and some great points. The one constant here is how many times TCU gets the shaft. Saw their game vs OLE Miss, and they just toyed with them. Gotta think TCU is at Least one of the top 3 teams this year, and may have the best coach in the country.

Hopefully this bowl season forces the committee to view the SEC's out of conference schedules.

Remember when these teams weren't dropping in the poll because they were losing to each other?

ya, pollsters treat/treated ACC and old Big East same way in BasketBall,,coddle them and dont punish them enuf for in conf losses.

I meant to say that hopefully this forces the SEC to actually HAVE an OOC schedule besides some division two school sandwiched between another conference game.

Or be penalized for it.

Put Oregon, FSU & OSU in the SEC and probably none of them even make it to the playoff.

You may be right on FSU but Ohio State just bitchslapped the SEC's best team. I'm pretty sure they could handle Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Auburn.

I also don't think there's team in the country that can hang offensively with Oregon.

And they did it with a 3rd string QB

The rest of the world is catching up with the SEC.

Wisconsin beats Auburn

Ohio State beats Alabama

Notre Dame beats LSU

Ole Miss and Miss St both get beat.

There is one thing I learned watching Ohio State last night. Urban Meyer is the best college football coach in the country right now with how he has brought Ohio State back.

You started 2 of these ******* moronic threads? Haha

.....

lmfao - i just saw this stupidity. The entire SEC East won their bowl games. 7 wins/5 losses and the west was significantly better during the regular season. Most Bowl games per conference, most bowl wins per conference. Only the SEC and Pac 12 had a winning bowl record.

Lets compare for the slow, like Blackout.

SEC - 7-5 - 12 teams

ACC - 5-6 - 11 teams

Big 12 - 2-5 - 7 teams

Big 10 - -5-6 - 11 teams

Pac 12 - 5-3 - 8 teams

You're a special kind of moron but you're our moron.
