SouthernJet Posted January 9, 2006 Share Posted January 9, 2006 I find it very telling that the statements I have seen by Jet players has been 'Sad to see him go, he always valued families over work', 'he trusted us to do the work and wssnt a watchdog' etc,,, hahahahaha, pretty obvious these guys like Herm cause he let them prioritize other stuff over football, he let them coast on workouts or weight regime' etc,,,,,, No one is saying he made me a better football player or brought me to the next level, its all he let us be pros and let us value life over football,,, well guess what, u r a football player for an average of 4 to 5 years, u prioritize that which means if u cant manage workouts then a coach has to kick your ass to get it done,. Someone disciplined, detailed, experienced, and capable of not only leading, but gettin' in your ass, if necessary. The only issue, I'd worry about, though, is personnel. His decisions were ok at best, and Terry would have to do a pretty good job. otherwise, I'd trust him completely, with grooming a young qb and building an offense.
