If you were NFL Commish, what changes would you make? (Not just Pats stuff)

- Obviously I would come down hard on Pats w/circumstantial evidence (JGBs , is this legal?) and suspend Belly 1 year aka Sean Peyton w/the ignorance no excuse rule

- I would stop being so damn cheap and hire NFL employees to sequester / manage gameballs for both teams as opposed to Home Team employee owns job

- I would stop being so damn cheap and hire NFL employees to manage the Game Clock as opposed to current rule of Home Team employee owns job..

- I would make College players wait 1 extra year to declare, as our new GM said, MOST come into league now 'not ready'

- My MAIN change would be to stop cheap owners from bleeding their fans while padding wallets. The owners make money on day One when they are paid their share of TV rights. All other stuff is gravy. So there is a minimum % of cap money  owners have to spend. But what they dont spend is money in their pocket.

****MY CHANGE: With-hold 10-20% of TV revenue money,  and that only goes to teams that make playoffs. Equally distributed on  last day of regular season. The teams that are wildcards get same % as SB winner. It's a 'competitive' bonus' This may make some 'hold my cap cheap owners spend a tad more cap money to get team JUST competitive enough to make the playoffs, aka a 9 win team goal. Incentive even if its 3-4 million more for that 1 extra Free Agent. Good for fans.

I say to the smartest NFL Forum fanbase in NFL add your own  'I am Commish an dhere are the new changes' ideas..................

Eliminate the 2 min warning. College doesn't even have it. All it is a co-timeout and another excuse for commercials.

No nets behind the goal posts. God forbid someone gets to go home with a ball.

No more Europe

No more months of pandering for a group nor cause. A week? Cool. A month? No.

Hard suspensions for egregious fouls.

QBs will be treated like football players again

Lighten up on Def PI. Its a sickness at this point.

Guys yelling for flags get one themselves.

Since you are Commish, Goodell is gone :) You can hire someone with your new big salary to have someone tar and feather him though ;)

I'd still fire him. Then fire him again from his next job. Denny's doesn't need a bathroom attendant anyway.

Good list! I bet the Pats got those nets put up.

I would add bringing the kickoff back to the 30, and fining refs for making poor calls, making sure their pride doesn't get in the way of doing the right thing.

Hefty fines for refs that blow calls.

A night game every day of the week on network tv -- we don't need 13 games on Sundays or NFL Sunday Ticket.

No more blackouts.

No more London.

Free parking at all stadiums. If they want fans to show up at least give them a place to park!

Allow tampering.

No ties. All games have a winner.

Start NFL Network 2/3/4/5 and make sure all games are available on these channels.

Do away with NFL Sunday ticket.

Abolish fantasy football. Takes up a lot of productive time of the nation. And yes you can never become a GM. Accept it.

Force Kraft to sell his team like Donald Sterling.

Ban BB and Brady forever.

FIle a lawsuit against Goodell, Belicheat, Kraft, and Brady for tarnishing league's image.

Get rid of useless talking heads like Heath Evans and Warren Sapp  from NFL Network and start over.

Make Katy Perry an annual feature at Super Bowl halftime.

Ensure every fan entering the stadium gets one free beer from the owner.

There needs to be a better accountability system for refs. They're all like tenured teachers

Every day of the week is a bad idea. A big part of the NFL success is that really, sometimes, less is more. Something dickface is missing by trying to expand the season for TV revenue

If I was actually commish I'd want to keep blackouts with the idea that the game day experience and the money needs to stay reasonable. The home experience continues to get better but nothing beats being at the stadium with real fans and friends. Those people can't afford the second mortgage on their house to do it anymore.

**** London

Parking passes are ridiculous

Tampering is bad and should be punishable for good reason, but Woody's comment where just him being a dumb, inbred, sperm lotto winner. They'll take a pick but it should be a 7th at most

The ties are fine during the regular season and it hardly happens. I love hockey but hate the shootout. The sh*t's practically a coin flip and has nothing to really do with the game that's been played till that point. Like hockey the NFL will make them keep going when it matters but it's impractical to expect them to keep going during the regular season

tell the owners they are making enough money, so lets take care of the fans that make 100% of it possible

as has been said, no london, no thursday night.  just stop it

protect defenders more.  since thy are not allowed to defend passes, protect them from BS blocks, and stiff arms to the face and enforce OPI.  If I want to see 55-42 I'll watch oregon

experiment with the kazoo helmet.  I'm home recovering from a concussion, man it sucks.  football players need more head protection

I'd put a team in Mexico since half of them are here anyway, put a team in Canada they have a good fan base, a team in London, a team in Germany, have a second division which the teams in last place are moved to and the teams that win it move up, limit play stoppage it's ridiculous, make team name themselves after the city or state they play in, add two refs on the field to help make the right call and speed up the game, allow for aggressive play and change the rules back so running the ball isn't a lost art, make every stadium opened with real grass, add 10 players to the practice squad with indefinite terms,

To be continued

European teams would have a nightmare of a time attracting UFAs. Taxes are bad here, they're beyond ridiculous over there.

Hell, players in all 4 sports here look to Texas and Florida for that very reason. Look at what Derek Jeter did.

Also, it's really not fair to ask the Chargers play a game in Germany and vice versa.

So but them in the NFCE and AFCE

You're aware that the Commissioner work for, and is the representative of, the Owners, right?

Your ideas aren't bad, per se, just completely unrealistic given the real world and all.

If I am the Commish, here is my list:

1. 20 Game Season, no Preseason.

2. 65 man roster, all active every week.

3. Return to "old school" rules about QB contact.  Hitting the QB is legal again.

4. Return to the Old School Rules on DB's and Contact. I.e. less ticky-tack pass interference, more blatant pass interference.

5. Pass Interference now a 10 yard penalty.

6. Teams who move cities leave their name and history behind, and start fresh as expansion team, no exceptions.

7. 85% of Cap Floor.  Failure forfeits your entire next years draft class.

8. Donate an entire years Owners Profits to fund Retired Player Benefit Accounts/Healthcare.

9.  While I'm at it, move Jacksonville to Portland, Oakland back (permanently) to LA.

10. Re-Start the Euro-Minor League.

Thats a decent start IMO.

No more Thursday night or Monday night games, one Friday night game per week. Games spread out at 1pm, 4pm and 7pm on Sundays.

Move to a 17 game schedule. That 17th game has to be played at a non-NFL stadium. Every team in the league gets to be the home team every other year for that game. Imagine the Jets at Citifield every other year.

Every player has to sit at least 1 regular season game to quel the concerns of the players union for the extra game.

Let DBs have contact, not holding, on receivers within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Narrow the goal posts, but Institute the 1 point kick that they have in the CFL - If you attempt a field goal, miss the U, but clear the ball thru the end zone, you get 1 point.

Nfl supplies all game balls.

Go the NCAA model in overtime.
