Cards are $9.3m over cap. Decisions to be made on following players:

Fitzgerald(goner)  $23mil cap hit.... $9mil Cap savings

Patrick Peterson   $15mil cap hit.... $8mil Cap Savings

Calais Campbell    $15mil cap hit.... $4mil Savings

Carson Palmer      $14.5m cap hit... $6.5mil savings..... I'm sure he stays if healthy

Darnell Dockett     $9.8mil cap hit... $3.8 mil savings

Saints are $23mil over the cap with not a lot of wiggle room. Players on Bubble:

Jahri Evans          $11mil Cap hit...  $4mil Cap Savings

Marquis Colston  $9.7mil Cap Hit...$4.3mil savings (Goner)

Cameron Jordan  $7mil Cap hit....   $7mil Savings (This guy would be a nice pickup over Babin and Coples

Curtis Loftin         $9.25 Cap hit....   $$5.25 Savings ( Move DeMario to WSLB?)

They're are some other teams like the Rams, Pats and 49ers who will also need to let some players walk.

I hope Maccagnan doesn't try to underbid players like Idzik did.... pissing a lot of FA's off.

Idzik tried the old bait and switch.... Hope new GM is a straight shooter with these players.

i'm sure they franchise tag him. Although they have a tough decision to make beca use 2 other impact D players could walk.

Franchise who? Peterson? He just signed a HUGE contract extension. This is the last yr. they can cut him affordably. Saves them $8.7 mil this yr. The next 3 yrs. will be huge dead money hits.

His play has diminished this past year. Do they want to keep him for $14mil for the next 3 yrs?

NO way they franchise Cro!

We're not getting Peterson, would be nice though.

I'd actually love getting Carson Palmer to ho with a rookie QB this year. Palmer is pretty much exactly what the Jets need right now actually.

Yes. No shot at Peterson, would love Palmer.

Do not want Cromartie back. Jordan would be a beast pickup. Fitzgerald, Dockett, and Evans are ancient ones who might have something left in the tank. Would maybe swap Harris for Lofton, but no interest in Colston.

We're not getting peterson. They just extended him a year ago. Too much dead money. Fitz is a possibly, along with Colston for the WR. Dockett is old and missed this whole past year, pass. Campbell is a solid football player, along with Cameron Jordan, if we switched to a 4-3, which we're probably not going to.

Colston, Fitz and Campbell are probably the players we'd have interest in, assuming they're all cap casualties. I'd try to go after fitz for 3 years for like 5 per.

Fitz is running on fumes. Has nothing left in the tank.

I thought Patrick Peterson was just given a contract last year.

True, however he was beaten bad in a few games this year. I forget who the 1 WR was who was taunting him on the field. I'm wondering if Arizona feels his play is dropping off and if he will be worth $14 mil/yr. This is this yr. they can cut him without a big Dead Money hit. Considering there Cap situation will they choose to get our from under that contract.

Very well could be he stays.... just some fodder for thought. Getting tired of the "Deflategate" talk.

still had almost 800 yards with no help at QB, IMO I think he could help us.

Hasn't had a 1k season in 3 yrs n only had 370 yards in the first 8 games with Palmer...zero TDs. N he's only going to get worse. He'll cost at least 5-6 mil per imo.

N our QB situation isn't much better than AZs backups.

Patrick Peterson will not get 14 per if he gets released. Not after the year he had this year.

Agreed! If Revis is getting $12mil, PP is worth $9mil

Does AZ want to keep him on the books for that price for 3 more years? After that the last 2 years he can be easily cut with no dead money hit.

Tough call on their part. If he's designated a post June 1 cut they save $8 mil. After this year it will be impossible to cut him w/o taking a big hit

They are no way no how cutting Peterson.   That's funny if you think so.  They will restructure and give him some money now I'm sure.

Peterson is OK, but he gets beat way too much. Especially this past year.

There is a team which could possibly have gotten to the NFCCG if their QB had stayed upright, and with a $15 million corner stinking it up.  No need to lay out that kind of scratch for a CB.  I would much rather get Jackson or Maxwell, if they are gettable.
