Chuckie Keeton QB Utah State.

Villain The Foe

Recommended Posts

This kid looks fantastic throwing the football. Goes through his progression, can make every throw, he's a legit mobile threat and puts the ball in the chest of his receivers. Most off all, he throws the ball away most of the time and lives to play another down. Had injury issues in College but a 5th to 7th round pick on this guy would seem like an extremely good idea.

I haven't seen much of Keeton before this, but i'm even less inclined to watch more now. While there was a couple big throws in the Utah game, the wake forest game was unwatchable. He does throw a nice inside seam ball over linebackers. He consistently made that throw... But, no anticipation and touch on the deep balls. He's always waiting, and waiting...

I guess i've seen this guy a hundred times before. He's not bringing anything new to the table and he's so raw. 80% of what he likes to do, and does well, is not going to be very successful in the NFL. BUT, i would put him on my practice squad by virtue of his tenacity. He's seems like fighter, guy that will do whatever it takes. So that's worth kicking the tires on.

The wake forest game wasnt his best, but more often than not I found his game to be impressive, and he kept the game within range against USC which was better than Utah State at probably every level except QB.

Everything you said though is valid which would result in a late round pick up or undrafted free agency, but I think if you mold this kid he could be solid.

great post, the kid is a intriging prospect look at his video he have all the tools but needs the right developer I wonder if our new qb coach have the patience because our last regime clearly didnt

I agree. He needs to slide more often and stop taking a lot of hits in general. Getting bit by these NFL linebackers and safeties are going to feel alot different than from college. If he adds some muscle and simply use his throwing ability and take the run when the lane is there for the taking then he can be a real legit player in this league.

He needed to show a full year of health anyway.

His coaching staff needs to seriously talk to him though. He needs to do simple things such as "Run out of bounds and not take that shot from the safety for the goal of gaining 1 1/2 extra yards". "Read options mean that you can also give the ball to the running back". "Slide dammit"
