Assuming the Jets don't believe Mariota is the guy the trade makes a lot of sense. They could go Jones, Hackenburg or Cook in 2016.... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
FidelioJet Posted February 23, 2015 Share Posted February 23, 2015 They need a QB that doesn't suck. Which is why if Mariotta is there you HAVE to take him. Trading down simply doesn't make sense. You have to continue to take shots at QB's until you find one. Even if you like what the OP has to said..then what? You finish with 8-10 wins, maybe get a WC and lose in the first or second round. Then have no chance to get a top QB prospect the next year. If you have a chance at a top QB prospect you take him and don't look back. If he fails you start over again in three years...Not ideal but it's the reality of todays NFL.
