So you need 6 guys you're comfortable with

For me my preference in order is this

Mariota

White

Fowler jr

Shane ray

Cooper

Scherff

My hope is that Winston and the USC Williams go ahead of

Our picks expanding the options.

#6 looks like a great place to be, I'd prefer #4 of course but I've moved on from the meaningless wins debate. We're here kow with a perfect chance get a legit #1 nfl wideout, stud pass rushing OLB, franchise QB or stud/best oline in the draft- you really can't **** this up- take one of the above and go to sleep and see who drops to the second round.

What're your thoughts, you're top 6 in order of preference.

Shane Ray

Dante Fowler Jr

DeVante  parker

Kevin Whte

Brandon Scherff

Lae'l Collins

The way I Iook at building a football team is I spend huge cap dollars on the premium positions and I draft those positions early ahead of any other position. Those positions are:

QB

LT

OC

NT

DE (43 scheme)

OLBer  (34 scheme)

MLB

The OC should be able to play OG but be 1st and foremost a center.

The LT must excel in Run blocking as well as Pass blocking.

The 43 Defensive end should be able to handle 34 olber duties

the 34 DE should be able to move inside and rush the Passer at the 3T position.

The 34 OLber should be able to move up to 43 DE .

Having said that, I go after the positions in the trenches before I go after the glamor positions early . Looking at what I have in my top 6, my targets would be .

Ray

Fowler Jr

Scherff

Collins

Parker

White

I like your reasoning, but I'd tweak your Individual rankings. After that blazing 40 it's now impossible for me to have any other WR ahead of white- he looks like a more raw Julio jones to me, 4.35 is truly special for his size, plus he was already Mayicks #1 wideout and then he does that- frankly I see Oakland all over him, I'd be mildly surprised if he even got to 6.

Then Scherff- I'd be happy with him but Brick will start at LT for the foreseeable future and #6 overall is too high for any other o line position IMO

If all the Pass rushers were gone, I would have to take Scherff at 6 . I love me some White since he went to my old high School in Brooklyn, LOL, but I know for a fact that Parker made Bridgewater a 1st round pick.  Bridgewater was a different QB when Parker was hurt or missing.

DeVante Parker is special, and plays to his timed speed.  White is aggressive and attacks the ball, but I don't think he plays to the 4.35 speed. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Unlike the 2008 draft where we were in limbo and had to take Gholston, I'm more

than comfortable being at #6 this year.  Here are the players I would be happy

with:

Scherff G/LT

White WR

Cooper WR

Parker WR

Fowler OLB

Beasley OLB

Dupree OLB

Want Shane Ray. He is in top 3 in this  draft. You could always find a receiver in the 2nd.

I don't know if he plays to his timed speed or not but he sure caught alot of bombs and got plenty of YAC on shorter passes.  From what I saw his game speed was just fine.  Please tell what is "special" about Parker that you don't see in White?  Not trying to be argumentative, just interested in your thought process.  I realize White "came out of no where" any only played one season so there less film on him.  He is more a "late" bloomer and still developing.

The best way I can explain it is White depends on his athletic ability to out jump or out muscle CBs for the football  while even thou Parker can out jump folks, he is better at setting up CBs and taking advantage of them.

Parker plays to his timed speed and can set up CBs like Cooper does even if he's not as polished.

White doesn't play to his timed speed , but more to his size.

Cooper doesn't play to his timed speed, but to his shuttle and cone numbers.

So basically you are saying Parker is more polished in his route running and setting up Dbs (just not as polished as Cooper) but he also brings similar athletic ability as White.  Ok, I can appreciate that.

He was already Mayock's #1 wideout because Mayock was betting on him running that time.  He may also have been betting on Cooper running worse.
