The obligatory Jets traded down with Philly mock.

Yeah, these speculated trade down scenarios never happen but that won't stop butt heads like me from posting mocks off of it for the fun of it.

Jets get Foles, 21st overall and 52 overall for 6th overall.  (Feel free to toss in a pick next year if you so desire.)

1-20 Alvin Dupree - DE/OLB - Kentucky

2-37 Cameron Erving - OL - FSU

2-52 Nelson Agholor - WR - USC

3-70 Jay Ajayi - RB - Boise State

4-88 Garrett Grayson - QB - Colorado State

5-134 Cam Thomas - CB - Western Kentucky

7-198 Taiwan Jones - ILB - MSU

Not a bad haul, would be very happy with this.

Nice draft. I might toy with the prospect selection, but the positions are there. With Dupree it would really depend on who else was on the board. You're in prime Gurley/DGB territory there... in 3 years from now, it would be a very tough pill to swallow to know we selected a situational pass rusher with 2 of the games most dominant young guns on the board. Management better be reeeeeeaaaal sure about passing on those 2. Like really fcking sure.

Why do you think Jones is there in the 7th? I'd be somewhat shocked. he's rnd 3-4 guy

I actually think Dupree is more than just a situational guy.  He's bigger than some of the top rated lightweight rushers and by the sounds of it he was decent against the run as well.

As for Jones, that is about the area my draft spreadsheet has him in.  He's as limited player by the sounds of it, nice big thumper but not fast or agile.  He could missvalued by myself however, no doubt about it.

I simply do not want to use a high pick on a RB, one coming off a wrecked knee especially so.  DGB, too many question marks imo, not just the character but essentially being out of football for a year as well.  (Both those guys went late in the 1st round in this mock so they were not there for round 2)

Sorry, i didn't mean to suggest that Dupree will only be a specialist... but the risk is there, the knock on him is that doesn't put it all together - as Mayock said. ...what I was trying to intimate is that there's a version of reality where Dupree is just another M. Whitney and Gurley and DGB become the studs they profile to be... and we passed on them, why? I know this really isn't the conversation for that, i'm just suggesting that if we're picking in the 20-30 range of rnd 1, i need to know where those 2 are at.

...I love jones, he and mcbride are wrestling for my attention in that round 4 area.

Sorry, didn't see this part until now. Explains your position on them. I disagree entirely, but i see where your heads at now.

Have you considered Saxton or Pruitt yet?

I actually had Saxton in this mock, forget which round until I did more research and found he was rated higher than where I was going to pick him (and the fact it sounds like he had a big combine).  I for sure would like another TE even if it is a pass catching type even thought we have Amaro.  (I can't wait until Cumberland gets set adrift, can't happen soon enough)
