slats
Revis is under contract, and I agree with Faba, he wasn't coming back here if he was. Right position, though, I'd hope they'd be very aggressive going after Maxwell. Iupati would also be a solid early move. They have enough money to do two big money negotiations simultaneously. I'd avoid the WRs and pass rushers. Very expensive on the free agent market, and there will be opportunities for the Jets to get their own franchise caliber players at those positions in the draft. T0mShane
Pauline reported he "heard" at the Combine that the Jets weren't likely to give Iupati $8 mil per, and that they were instead looking at mid-priced options (Orlando Franklin, I guess?). Pauline also said that the Jets were going after LBs and CBs in free agency, which could be a clue as to what direction they're looking to go wth the sixth overall pick. fwiw, It was rumored Maxwell might command $10 mil plus, but we heard the same thing two years ago when all the top non-Revis corners ended up getting between $5-$7 mil per. prime21
Although we have money to spend I do not believe a chunk of it would be going to Revis at 12-14 million a year. I would rather sign Cro and Maxwell which would cost more but we are getting more. I would like them to sign Worilds and Lupati.

I'm fine with not breaking the bank for a guard. But if they're being frugal, I can't see them looking at free agent pass rushers who can run upwards of twice that $8M/year figure they're assigning to Iupati. Especially with it looking like they'll have their choice of pass rushers at #6. Signing an expensive OLB would be a clear sign that they were focused on the WR position in the draft, IMHO. To Tony's point, if Jets land a stud cb and a rusher(Worilds, Houston) in FA, and guys like Beasley, Fowler,Ray are on the board, as well as Mariota, pick #6 just became a lot more valuable. Beerfish
Worilds will be the 1st guy signed Cromartie will be the 2nd guy signed.
HOZ THE JET
I think our first free agent signing will be a corner or 2 before hitting up the offensive line they let that be known I say Cromartie & Kareem Jackson in the 1st week.

I'd imagine that guys like Justin Houston and Greg Hardy aren't what we'd be shooting for--more along the lines of Sam Acho, Bruce Carter, etc. Maybe they spring for Worilds or Brandon Graham? Woody already said publicly that they think he is worth the 2 years and 32 mill that the pats gave him. “Darrelle is a great player,” Johnson said at the press conference. “If I thought I could have gotten Darrelle, for that (contract), I probably would have taken him.”

bgivs21
1.) Spiller 2.) Acho 3.) Cro I know a lot of people on here are expecting the big names (Worldis, Iupati, Maxwell etc.) This regime just doesn't strike as if they are going to sign big name FA, at least not at the start. I think they will focus on the draft & developing players first and when/if we get to the point where we are in contention but missing a piece here or there they will spend the big $$$
