AFJF
Back in the states now with wife and kids I don't do nearly as much traveling as I did when I was in the UK and it was just me and the wife but man did I love it. London, Southern France and Brugge, Belgium were some favorites. Any fellow travelers with favorite countries/cities?
RutgersJetFan
Tel Aviv, Reykjavik, Arequipa, and Marrakesh. All a blast. But when summer hits, Chicago is the best place on the planet to be.
JetsFanInDenver
I would say the Scandinavian countries are always intriguing. Also places like Malaysia, Japan and certain parts of India.

slowmoe57
Loved Paris. People were as snooty as advertised.
RutgersJetFan
Next on my list. Let me know if you go to Reykjavik. Got some great food and booze places to send you to. Arequipa is very underrated by travelers in Peru because most go to Lima or Cuzco (the latter for the Inca Trail). Just a stunningly gorgeous city, great mix of Incan and Spanish heritages. You really like Chicago that much huh? I'll be applying a few spots there for residency soon (Northwestern and a couple others) and am excited to actually explore it more if I get some interviews. As for the question: Dubrovnik Croatia might be the most beautiful city in the world, French Riviera, Bordeaux France, Florence, Venice, Rome... Would love to get to Tel Aviv, have only heard good things. Plus, the women.

November through April it's like living in Antarctica's a$$hole. There's a reason why a billion songs have been made about Chitown summers. Israeli women are insanely gorgeous. Dark skin, long legs, big boobs, much more open to talking to you but also much harder to hook up with. Complete opposite of American chicks. Also not to be a downer but look thoroughly into any institution you apply to here. I am not sure if this is going to affect the university hospitals (my wife works at one) but there are some insanely huge budget cuts on the horizon. Northwestern is private so you'll be fine there, but any public schools like UIC make sure you do your homework.

drdetroit
I heard Chicago in the summer is like Miami on roids. Lots of cool bars on Clark st, Wrigley is only a short walk from lake mich I saw Yankees cubs at Wrigley last year it was awesome. I want to see a game from one of those rooftops next time. Technically yes, the lake is about a 15-20 minute walk east. But the beaches would be another 30-40 minutes walk north towards Montrose or south towards downtown. There is a pretty cool dog beach and harbor though. Wrigleyville is OK but it's douchebag central on Cubs gamedays. Cool to see once or twice, but the Cubs crowd grows old real quick. Best neighborhoods for barhopping are probably Wicker Park and Lincoln Park.
