Trying to understand

I understand that we need a quarterback ND not one who has a year or two left in his arm. I also understand what a QB like Marcus Mariota can be for the Jets. But, I also understand the disasters like QB's such as Browning Nagle were (anyone remember him and what the Jets organization thought he'd be for them). The thing I don't understand is, with the Eagles making a lot of noise about wanting to get him (he did play for Chip Kelly), and they apparently not caring to much for keeping or making it known that they care very much for the QB they have now (Nick Foles, 14-4 as a QB for them, came out of the same school as Drew Brees), why aren't the Jets looking at making a move for him?? I mean, they just got rid of LeSean McCoy, yeah, he had a off year, but still one of the best backs with at least 4 more years left in his game.....

Can someone please make me understand?

They probably are trying to make a move. No one on this forum knows what the Jets are doing or not doing. I personally agree with what you're saying. Though I prefer Mike Glennon rather than Nick Foles, I do feel that the Jets need to do something outside of the trash in free agency and drafting a rookie QB and calling it a day.

Well they might be asking about Foles but they are not going to broadcast it to the world  (tampering.)

Also Philly is not going to mover foles until they have Mariota in hand.  why would they trade foles, then miss out on mariota and be left with no QB at all?

If foles gets moved it would be at the draft in a trade up to get mariota or after they get mariota.

Why would it be tampering if they're asking the Eagles about Foles? I mean, thats how you get a trade done right? You have to speak to the team regarding the player you're enquiring about.

I didn't say they are not or could not talk to the Eagles about a trade.  I said they couldn't pull a Woody and say.  'Gee we'd love to get our hands on foles, he would be a gret Qb for us to pick up and we will do what we can to get him.'

I think if Mariota falls to pick 6 and they consider a trade with the Eagles they also need to consider a trade with the Rams (if they even have an interest). If we got Foles or Bradford either one is an upgrade and trading down to the Rams pick wouldn't be all that far of a move (though we also wouldn't get as much for a trade like that)

if they consider one offer though they need to consider all of their offers. there also may be other teams looking to move up for a WR or pass rusher at pick 6.

There are $13M reasons to prefer Foles over Bradford.
