Has the QB Trade Market been Set? If so... Glennon, Fitz, Savage?

The Vikings will get draft pick compensation for Cassel. According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, the Bills will trade the Buccaneers’ 2015 fifth-round pick (which the Bills acquired in a previous trade) for the Vikings’ 2015 sixth-round pick, and Buffalo will also give Minnesota a 2016 seventh-round pick.

Do you think Glennon could be had for a high 5th round pick? Could Fitzpatrick(Gailey might push for this) or Savage from the Texans be had for a 5th?

Cassel has had more success than Glennon.

I think it will take a 3rd to get Glennon. It's a trade I would make. Who are you going to draft in the 3rd round? Petty, who you have to teach to play pro QB? I'll take a 25 year old with a 2:1 TD-INT ratio in the pros.

Unfortunately I don't think Glennon is going to be available anymore because TB

cut McCown.  Who would be their backup QB once they draft Winston?

Well you just popped The Troll and Villain the Foe's  bubble. I agree with you.

I wouldn't mind Fitzpatrick and let him and Geno and ?(Draft Pick) battle it out.

Fitzpatrick is a guy that I am extremely meh on.  I am not loving the idea, but I would be willing to go along with it if Gailey thinks it is worthwhile.  Savage is a guy that some scouts were in love with (maybe Bradway?) but he supposedly looked far from ready.  I can't imagine they would take anything less than a 3rd since they spent a 4th on him and he is super young.  I am okay with going after Savage, but I don't think it solves anything.

Seriously...why not Sanchez?

two GM's removed, new coach, new OC...And he's the best QB that's likely to be available. Truthfully I would be happy with him than any QB we're likely to get.

Not enough bandwidth to explain why not.

If you're going to say things like ButtFumble and eating hot dogs then those aren't realistic arguments.  If you don't think he's better than anyone we can get then so be it.  But, IMO, he is.  he will help this team win more games than anyone other QB we're going to sign.

For gods sakes no.  I don't normally dismiss a suggestion out of hand but this one I will.  We have to beat our addiction to turnover machine QB's

How about poor passing % his whole career and no ability at all to limit turnovers?  (Not to mention the fans would flay him alive the moment he made a mistake)

For starters his td to int ratio is brutal. So is his comp %. So is his reading of coverages. He fumbles a ton. He has 130 turnovers in 71 games. I could go on but I won't.

Not to mention signing him is totally a typical 'Jets Circus' move. Aren't we trying to instill a new culture here? This would just be more of the same.

I'm just asking a question.  Just who are the other options?  Looking at the landscape - Sanchez is likely to be considered the top FA QB on the market.

I realize it's not pretty I know it's not realistic and not going to happen - but I ask why?  The answer is, it's emotional.  and I would hate to see management run this team on emotion.

And the other options with high comp% and lack of turnovers are?  Who's going to help the team win more games?  Which QB are we getting that's going to do that? Geno?

I'm not a Sanchez and never really have been - Just bringing up the question.

well, i've learned here in the last few weeks that Glennon is franchise QB waiting for a chance and that Savage is our Favre

They'd be better off with a 4th rounder plus Matt moore (any vet QB) (as a backup) than just Glennon as a backup. Glennon's value is in his upside which is zero playing behind Winston. A 4th rounder could net them another piece to surround Winston.

It would be looked at as step back. The media frenzy (see Tim Tebow) would be a distraction. if he sucks again/buttfumbles the GM looks like a fool.

The upside is not worth the risk with Sanchez back in NY. I rather get Glennon/draft a QB/Geno/Hoyer than Sanchez/Geno.

But we're Jet fans :(

haha......sorry..your initial response just P--- me off for some reason.....I'm not  much of a fighter on here...

yes, we all do wallow in the same misery.  The fact that I have bring up the idea the idea that Sanchez may be our best option tells the story.

They didn't take it last year when they planned to go with McCown, why do it this year?  In fact, I think they supposedly were holding out for 2nds last year.  In addition to everything else and having no QB that knows the system to mentor Winston, Matt Moore will probably make $4.5M more than Glennon.  That can probably net them a better piece than a 4th rounder.

Thank you for a reasonable answer.  Not a move the GM could make and I actually agree.

I'll take Colt McCoy and Matt Moore any day of the week over Sanchez.

And before you go yapping away about something, I know what they are. Mediocre to average QBs. Still better than Sanchez.

It's got nothing to do with emotion, he turns it over, always has always will.  He hangs on to the ball too long.

Colt McCoy and Matt Moore are more likely to help the Jets win?

There are other options.  All i know is that Sanchez has thrown a whopping 80 ints in his career and fumbled 50 times and has been sacked 149 times.

The fact he has a better arm or more starting experience is dwarfed by the turnovers.  The combo of Sanchez and geno has just killed this team over the 4 years.  A key reason you win games is by not turning it over.  We can't bring back another turnover machine
