The Texans have signed QB Ryan Mallet and are expected to finalize a deal with QB Brian Hoyer soon. Once the Hoyer deal is done, the Fitzpatrick trade to the Jets could happen quickly, as the two sides have already spoke, according to the report. The Jets would likely send a late-round draft pick to Houston (Mehta, March 11). Fitzpatrick has a history with Jets GM Mike Maccagnan, formerly with the Texans organization, where the quarterback played last season. Last year, in 12 games, Fitzpatrick threw for 197 completions with 2,483 yards, 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
