Beerfish
Those could all be right but what makes you think Tennessee will go wr? They were 31 vs the run last year, 18th in sacks. They have needs everywhere so it could be wr but it could also be just about any other position as well.

With those numbers you just rattled off, and roster that presently has Wright and Hunter on it, I don't see in million years how Management could spend the #2 pick on a WR with the other talent that will be available. That would be epidemically terrible
Beerfish
Hunter and Wright are no hofers by any means at all. I agree that it is unlikely but far from impossible. All it takes is for the gm to fall in love with the top WR and not be in love with the rest of the guys there.

Cooper and White aren't that good that a GM should ignore obvious defencies... I'll admit tho, if one falls in love, they can go blind. . patman
Williams is my choice for the raiders, but unless somebody trades into #2 for the qb, Williams will go there.
bealeb319
I could see a few trades happening in the top 10 of the draft this year. I think the Browns move up to snag Kevin White (possibly with the Jags) I think someone moves up for Mariota. Someone might make a push to move up in the 4-7 range to snag Cooper as well. I have a good feeling Fowler will fall to us and we will take him. (unless of course we are one of those teams who trade down)
bealeb319
Also, if the Bucs are stupid enough to blow everyones mind and take Mariota there will be a team moving up for Winston and I hope it would be the Jets.

The defense line in 3-4 doesn't have to be made of superstars. Those guys are two gap DT's that do the dirty work.
Tinstar
I have seen some strange thing since I have been a Football fan, but nothing as strange as I have seen over the past 3 yrs. Everyone and their mother says the combines and pro days don't mean much, but it's a lie straight from the pit of hades. These players go out on Saturdays, line up against each other and dominate in some cases. Yet their draft status is determined by what they show folks and fans on a winters day in Indy when the only game in town is lying poker. Take for example the saga of Teddy Bridgewater who played his way into the top ranked QB in college football. After a less than perfect pro day , he's considered a risk and falls to the end of the 1st round. Now we have the tale of Shane Ray, who dominated the SEC when the games were played . Now because he doesn't run as fast as folks would like or jump as high, he's a risk at the spot he was projected after the games ended. Football is a team game where effort, heart and desire combined with athletic ability determines success. It has nothing to do with what happens on a cold day in Indy in shorts. Mariota is a franchise QB and Williams is a blue chip cant miss prospect. He's actually the top rated player on the board.Titans like Metz but Whise is becoming enamored with Mariota. You don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Its Mariota or Williams. And I don't see anyone going cukoo for coco puffs and trading the farm to move up and grab Mariota. Bucs ..........Winston Titans..........Mariota - Williams Jags............Williams - Fowler Raiders.......White Redskins.....Fowler - Beasley Jets.............Mariota - Fowler - Beasly - Cooper

prime21
Too many people are hung up on the Vernon Gholston pick 7 years ago. We got burnt just like many other teams in the history of the NFL draft. It is what it is... Lets get over it.

cant wait
I really think Jacksonville is going to ransom #3 assuming Williams goes at 2. There's a lot of QB hungry teams with premium/multiple picks in this years first
Raideraholic
williams is probably the best player in the draft. why would the titans pass on him? look at the crazy money that these DL players are getting. he's the top talent at a premium position... that's why you want him on the raiders I'm sure The reports are teams don't like L Williams as much as the media, and draftniks do. ( after the draft will see if those reports are correct) personally I Want Amari Cooper or one of the pass rushers.( game changers) The Raiders won't pass on Leonard Williams because the pressure will be intense to draft the player who wants to play for the Raiders badly.( USC guy) He would probably play De for the Raiders on the run downs, moving to DT on passing downs. The hope is Leonard Williams would free up Khalil Mack to get to the Qb. Jmo If Raiders going defense I would prefer these guys in this order Fowler, Beasley, and Gregory. khalil Mack with one of those pass rushers rushing from the other end, would be something to witness. chirorob
To bad Jets didn't follow this philosophy when they drafted Vernon Gholston with their 5th pick. 6th. That top of the draft was crappy, most of the players taken right around him sucked. What could you do, he produced in college, looked the part, and had no heart and utterly, completely sucked. It still amazes me, an OLB with Rex Ryan, never getting a sack.
