JetsFanNick12
@MikeGarafolo: Osi Umenyiora back to the New York market? Maybe. Source says the free-agent DE was in NJ today to meet with the ... Jets. Interesting.

NYJetsVets91
What is he now? 50? Might as well bring back Kris Jenkins or Shaun Ellis...

jack48
I don't get it. Unless we are signing him because we will not be drafting an edge rusher this year. Maybe they feel he has one productive year in him. It could indicate interest in MM.

UnitedWhofans
3 sacks 6 QB hits 26 hurries last season. Had a solid 2013 but struggled last year. Until I hear " The Jets have agreed to sign...." I'm not going to go nuts and question.
Gas2No99
Pass. Probably a solid vet for the lockerroom, but his productive days at his minimum salary of a 12 year vet are not a good investment.

UnitedWhofans
How many Babins do we need? I questioned this too. But then I found out that Babin is an OLB. Osi is a DE. Different position for depth. Might be a signal that Douzable is also going to go.

Ghost
I'm assuming if we do sign him, it will be for the minimum. Even if we do sign him; it doesn't necessarily mean he's going to make this team. Personally, I wish we can get rid of Babin and Pace.
SoFlaJets
there was a time when Osi had us all wishing we had him and drooling over the possibility of being able to procure his services.

Maybe they feel he has one productive year in him. It could indicate interest in MM. Pace, Babin, Osi would be a huge mistake. We could think about it every time one of the OLBs we pass on becomes Von Miller.
prime21
Agree Babin and Pace need to go Pace can hang on for one more season but we need to draft a LB.

j4jets
Depth and experience. I would do it for a good price. Good Price? you as if she'll want a $5mil deal. Osi will be lucky if he got vets minimum.
JetsRay
Have to think an Osi signing cancels out Pace or Babin, probably Babin. Osi is actually younger than Babin.
David Harris
I'd rather have an old Osi than young Jamal Westerman type who is barely in the NFL. It's all about depth-and options. We can't be forced to draft a position due to lack of depth. Build it now so you can draft BPA and you're not torpedoed in case of an injury like with CB last season. Let's say we take cooper or white- then say Sheldon or Pace goes down for the year, who is stepping in? A vet with a little left is better than a special teamer scrub. Why hate on depth/non starter signings- or if you do then at least name specific viable alternatives. (Not every signing can be Revis)
