Can't wait...I was actually in London last year when they announced the Jets would be coming over.  Favorite team in my favorite city....so pumped for this and the chance to meet some JNers abroad.

Sounds incredible Phil, I wish I could go. To those who are indeed going, have a great time and kick some Dolphag ass.

Really anxious to see who can go and who can't.  Spent seven years in England and plan on retiring there in two years.  Love me some London.

Nope but my boss ironically just told me Friday that I'm overdue for a trip to the mothership.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

That would be great...gotta get a nice Jet Fan contingent out there.

Great place, worked just outside the M25 for a few years, enjoyed the way of life, we go back to visit and just the airline tickets are $1,300 now so the package deal is not bad  (could fly for $500 pre 9/11)

Just remember, everyone "played" rugby as a kid and there are no pads so it is much tougher and there are no timeouts :) smile, you are visitors...

Played a little rugby while I was over there.....got a nice black eye two minutes into my first game when a dude trying to get back onsides jumped the pile and (accidentally?) kicked me in the face.  Great time.

  • 3 weeks later...

I had planned to do this trip but leaving my job as a teacher in June to start up a business it may not be bright to drop $3-$4k on a trip to London right now.  Instead I'll be looking at Indy, Houston and/or Dallas.

To those going I'm very jealous.

What business are you starting?

I was there a few months back. About 20 odd years ago this city used to have a very unique Londonish flair for lack of a better term. But now it's getting so Americanized or globalized. It's good in a way because you don't feel you have missed a beat and usually things cost the same in unit terms. So if you but a bottle for water here for $1.79 you will pay GBP1.79 over there.

I am not sure i am going to go because i am past being a tourist to London city, I cannot combine the visit to do some other interesting things like catch up on a Formula 1 race or watch a cricket game and I might pass thru there once again next November and stop by for a day to catch up with old friends. Add to it the 9.5 hour flight from here and i will skip it. But enjoy and have loads of fun.

For those interested, they should be playing the Rugby World Cup around that time. So you can catch up on a World Cup game. Just remember even as a spectator at these games it's very hard to get your teeth insured.

If I wanted to go in person I could see this game for game, travel hotel etc for about half that.

Have friends in Cambridge that I can stay with.... so maybe I'll do a Saturday Hotel stay and meet up with the JetNation faithful, head back to Cambridge after the win for a few more days before leaving. I better get going on making arrangements. Tickets should be at a premium.

Good thing for us that Miami has so few fans and terrible one's at that. No way a large contingent travels to the UK.

Jet fans should own the place and the locals attending will root with us since there will be so many Jet fans at the bars several nights before the game!

What time will the game be televised here in the NYC area?

If they're smart they will play the game 4pm EST which is 9pm their time.  The game would have a national tv audience in the UK while still getting the normal NY/NJ area tv audience.

If I was going I'd drive down to BWI and get a cheap flight with Wow airlines which flies to the UK for about a fraction of what a major carrier charges.  Then I'd just stay at a hostel that wasn't too far from the stadium.

Now that I think about that I might actually go ahead and see this.  The British pound is at it's lowest value in a long time it's 1.50 USD normally it's almost 2 USD.
