We are painfully thin at ILB....

There has been a few fa rumors of us signing some vets but as of now we are terribly thin at ILB.  Harris, Davis and a couple guys I have never heard of (Mario Harvey, Chris Young?)

From round 3 onwards we need to look at this position in my opinion.  Who do you like for ILBs?  We need more than just a Bellore like special teams guy.

Thin at LB across the board. I feel a lot better about Harris/Davis than coples/pace

I do feel we have a need here but under this system and with the front line and secondary being so good, I think our LB's will play very well this year.  Coples may be ready for a breakout year.

We'll see, it sure seems like Bowles likes to play a lot of DB's

Coples will be playing a lot with his hand in the dirt.  I know we had Erin Henderson in for a visit the other day so they are looking at ILBs...

Bellore is a good ST guy but he never plays. Do we know what we will have if DD or Harry go down?

Bellore is a FA and they haven't signed him yet.  Rex actually said that they didn't put him in games because they were worried about losing him to injury (?)  Chris Young was a 2014 UDFA from ASU they picked up midseason.  They just signed Jamari Lattimore from the Packers.  He played in 11 games with 5 starts and 285 snaps last year with 49 career games according to this:   http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/jets-sign-packers-linebacker-jamari-lattimore-blog-entry-1.2170289

Mario Harvey was a workout freak from back in 2011.   Probably not a real option, but a good special teamer and great athlete. The Colts actually moved him to FB.  He seems to get hurt a bit.

Marshall Pro day: When Mario Harvey found out he was not among the invitees to last month's NFL Scouting Combine, Marshall's pro day emerged as this fiery linebacker's key chance to show NFL teams what Marshall fans have raved about for ages. Of the 12 Marshall players and one small-schooler who worked out for NFL personnel on March 16, it was Harvey who made the most of his opportunity. The 5-foot-10 7/8, 250-pound fireplug registered a stirring 4.46 40-yard dash and put on a strong positional workout for onlookers, including a New England Patriots scout who took particular interest in the Thundering Herd defender. Harvey also logged a 32-inch vertical and 9-5 broad jump, with a 4.19-second short shuttle and 7.13 three-cone drill result. Harvey is an aggressive, energetic, play-making defender ??? some NFL team will take a chance on him for his special-teams promise and potential on defense. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

The kid from UCLA is pretty good.  He can play coverage which is something we desperately need from our LB corps.

I'm not sure if he will make it to the 3rd round though.

Seems like they are probably going to play extra DBs, so I am not so sure they will carry that many LBs.  There might not be room.

See above.

With today's NFL the ILB is a dying position IMO. Better off using a bigger S who will have better coverage skills. IMO a teams roster should have more DBs and less ILBs compared to years past.

I agree since nickel and dime formations are used way more frequently now than 20 years ago but depth doesn't hurt.
