Msg to Jets Staff.....Trade with KC for Aaron Murray .

You might be surprised who has people monitoring the pulse of web boards. Last week Charles Davis of the NFL network Path to the Draft show admitted seeing the Web licking he took for ATL taking Todd Gurley instead of an edge rusher. He then did a new mock. Everybody looks for a little info this time of year. , but, every once in awhile you find something interesting. Most of it deserves to be flushed with other waste, however.

With such a well thought out and eloquent post, who would you rather have playing QB for the Jets this year? Geno or Murray ? Choose wisely, Grasshopper.

I'd take Geno. There's your eloquent thought out response.

The thread is about a trade scenario, not "who would you take".

I have the feeling that unless he takes a mighty leap forward in Camp, that the Jets will Draft someone in the 1st 3 rounds who will send  him home.

They probably will draft a QB in rounds 3-4.  Don't know why.   There is no body in  those rounds any better.  Wasted pick.  Ceiling for any of those guys is a journeyman

I Totally agree and that was my reason for starting this post. I am left cautiously pessimistic about picking an edge rusher early or an unproven prospect. Go look up the article today about J. Winston stealing  crab legs today on ProFootballTalk.com. Evidently a Publix employee was party to him STEALING TWICE.  Public opinion may make it hard for him not to DROP.

Everybody wants another team's mid round QBs. The Jets should draft these mid round QBs I always see threads wanting Kirk Cousins, Brian Hoyer, Matt Flynn, Nick Foles, etc. Jets should take a flier on these guys once in a while. A Mettzenberger, or the kid from Alabama would have been a good pick in the sixth round. Draft em. We won't have to trade for them.

When I started this post I had in my mind that one of you knows or is a neighbor to someone connected to the Jets organization. They can take the info, and over a cup of coffee, look at some film and scouting report of Murray. Hopefully their interest would be stirred a little. And take it up the CHAIN. Hence the possibility grows.

PHL is peddling M. Barkley who's stock tumbled after his pro day exposed a weak arm in a Calif breeze. Probably won't get traded, but, could end up rejoining his old coach. WAS wants too much for K. Cousins who has shown little with his opportunities. There are a couple of other 2nd or 3rd string QBs we could make a run at. But, it is just my opinion it wouldn't cost much and I think worth the risk after looking what is available. He is the most Pro Ready. We are going to burn a draft pick anyway.

I keep having the same nightmares of Geno throwing more interceptions and Marshall screaming at him walking to the sideline with another POOR THROW. Then our defense being put out there to save the day. We need a balanced attack and ball control. I HATE TURNOVERS.

So if one you really know someone, I think we would all be curious to their opinion.

Marshall won't have that problem he knows how to attack the ball at its high point in traffic and most importantly he knows how to get open. Trading for Qbs that have physical limitation is a desperate move . Just continue to develop Geno and worst comes to worst let Fitz play .

There is no more Clyde gates , Greg salas , and David Nelson guys being counted on to make plays . Guys who couldn't get open.

This alone will make the QB play better jets. What goes unnoticed by jets fans is how much better our QBs played particularly Geno when Decker was fully healthy and Playing . Adding Marshall to the mix should only make things easier .

Since the Herm era ended they have drafted Clemens, Ainge, Sanchez, McElroy, Smith and Boyd.  That is 6 QBs in 9 years.  Only one was a high pick. Somewhere on some other team's message board some dude is suggesting that a team take a chance on Geno cause he was good in college and the Jets just don't know how to develop QBs.

I don't think from what we have seen that there is much difference in arm strength between Mariota and Murray. However, Murray throws a better ball and is more accurate and pro ready. And everything I have heard over his last 3 years at UGA was he always prepared for the game, smart kid who took master's courses, and was well liked. He is 2' shorter and has to deal with the NY media. And if he sits on the bench behind A. Smith and has no WRs to throw to , he will never develop. Put him in with Marshal, Decker, Kerley, Amaro and draft Cooper or Gurley, and you unleash a kid who is very similar to Drew Brees. Our oppenents and the media would take notice. Or we can draft a QB in round 2-4 and hope he develops like Matt Simms. What a shame.

Interesting read on Bleacher Report regarding Mariota moving up and impressing at interviews. So now with a good work ethic and interview we mortgage picks to move up and take a Fast athlete with only Spread Offense experience. And let Chan Gailey and his staff take 1 or 2 years to modify their offense to let him use his abilities to be an effective QB. Anyone here remember Chad Pennington ? Smart guy and good locker room teammate. Weak to average arm , yet, somewhat effective for years.

It will take at least our #6 pick and next years 1st and maybe more and take a chance on a player who should develop into a good not great QB. His stock centers on his athletic ability not his arm, accuracy, or ability to go thru 3 or 4 progressions and make a play down field. I suspect we will roll him out left or right and let him make a read and throw. He will be left unprotected and could use his speed to run for a first down. Making a living that way is dangerous, but, exciting.

We need our picks ! Ferguson is getting older and hasn't shown his worth for that salary. Marshall might only play another year. Our 3 RBs have a year left on their contracts. And the hype is to move up in the draft and hope he makes the transition to the pro game and doesn't get hurt. He can date my daughter, but, I am not over spending. Go back to last years scouting report and read all the positive thing about Murray. Even Gil Brandt from NFL.com said he could be the Biggest Steal.

Will Someone from The JETS organization call me and watch my BLOCBUSTER DEAL. I will make 3 moves and knock NE Out for a LONG Time.

"NO BRAG... JUST FACT" !!!!!

Why overpay and mortgage Future Draft Picks to take a chance on an Unknown QB?  The draft value chart shows  the  #1 pick is worth 3000 and  #2 is 2600:  Our #6 is worth 1600.  Past history shows the Price for this reach is staggering. Just look at what the Redskins overpaid for the self centered Punk who calls himself RG III. He puts in the min amount of time to study game tape and Coaches plan . Watch his sideline and locker room behavior and you will see similar characteristics.  That's not Leadership. but. Punk Behavior.  Players like them see themselves as Entitled  and want to cultivate a BRAND so you don't see the glaring shortcomings. I suggest that is because most of their coaches didn't try or couldn't stop it.  They see these specimens as players who can maybe make a few plays in a tight game to WIN.  How SADDDDDD !!!!!

But, here we are again a week and a half from the Draft and have had a Very Good Offseason. Hopefully someone on the Staff is assigned to  look at Team Topics  across the League and find some useful info to Gain an Advantage over the rest. Or maybe one of you is a friend of or neighbor to a Staff Member.  I've been a fan since the Days of NAMATH and watched and studied the evolution of the Quarterback. Players like Bradshaw, Marino and P, Manning to name a few. Yes. my Sundays are spent watching games with my family and have been a Direct TV Customer since they 1st started the NFL Sunday Ticket. Before that we had to go to Sports Bars that had satellite feeds to watch games, especially the Good Matchups.  I grew up in Jersey  and haved lived all over this Great Country.I set my DVR to watch shows like:

    NFL Insider

    Path to the Draft

    Total Access

    Profootball Talk

I have an opinion on which Analyst has good information and which who continually pollute the airwaves. What is obvious is that Some had the Strong Arms, some had a Quick Release.  One thing they had that this year's class and those of the past lack is an ability to quickly process the information and "DELIVER THE BALL ACCURATELY".  It is my opinion that there is no STUD QB this year to build a Franchise around without a lot of risk.  So, why do it.                                              Looking for something different ?                        HERE IT COMES !!!!!!

As a fan who now lives in ATL , I have watched Aaron Murray and Todd Gurley play against tough competition.  The Georgia defense was and still is weak and put him in positions where he had to come from behind to win. I watched his interactions on the sideline with coaches and team mates. And was able to do what was needed in a Pro Style Offense.  He was a potential Top 10 Draft candidate until the last game where he tore an ACL.  Then.  I watched last years Staff of MISFITS pass on him like other Teams. He sits behind Alex Smith because Andy Reid will get FIRED when ownership realizes they overpaid to keep him. He may even beat him out in camp. but. surely won't give the job back if Smith gets injured. Just look at how many TD's Smith threw to WR's last year. The answer is ZERO.  He is listed at 6'1" and 210 lbs. He can Deliver the ball to Marshall and Decker with more consistency than any of these prospects or what is currently on our Roster.  And could be had for a 4th or 3rd round pick. I challenge you and them to look at Tape and listen to his interviews. Why Rat Hole him on the bench . Why not bring him to NY and make him the next  DREW  BREES  ?????

Nice post and I was one who loved Murray. I liked him more than Manziel  because of his size, toughness and his desire to win. Any past  injury is a concern but I for one will love to have him.
