I will never understand some jets fans. So you are literally saying that you would rather trade a franchise qb at 6 to the Browns for multiple picks instead of our jets having said franchise qb.

All for an outside linebacker? Please stop with that garbage.

Have you considered that some simply do not agree that Mariota is a future Franchise QB?

Well, if you don't think he's a franchise quarterback, then that opinion would make perfect sense.

Going by the premise of the show comments made. The theory is we would be trading for multiple picks because the Browns will be getting a franchise qb which you guys seemed to think was the better option than us just taking the franchise qb.

If we hold all the cards because Mariotta is there and this great qb is sitting here for taking and you would rather create a bidding war than just take the player. Than I guess a lot of fans are missing the boat on this whole NFL thing.

Olb s don't win Super Bowls !!!! Trading down and getting O lineman and outside linebackers and drafting Keller Clemens type guys in the 2nd round (unless extremely lucky) doesn't win Super Bowls.

1st round drafted QBs do

Exploiting (whenever possible) that other Franchises see a player differently than you do is pretty standard NFL trade tactics.

Mark "#5 Overall Pick" Sanchez says hi.

As do hundreds of other total-bust First Round QB's.

it's not nearly so clear-cut as all "pick 1st round QB, win title".

Yes. Agreed. But odds of a 1st rd qb hitting is way more likely than any other round. So for this franchise we root for , I'd say take the chance on someone while u have the chance. You can't always be afraid to take a question mark picking a qb jjust because a linebacker poses less of a question mark.

Bottom line is the jets fans who say pass on Mariotta are just afraid of the bust factor because of the history of the team.

It's safer to take another position. But ultimately for the love of god we need to find a franchise qb. It's sickening every year going into training camp hearing the same bs. Ooooo there is some competition this year at the position again. Geno vs fitz. Geno vs mark. Mark vs Tim. Enough already.

And look what happened when we drafted a qb named Mark Sanchez. We almost made the super bowl. Twice !
