Sheldon Richardon: Year 3

He'll have a high number of TFLs and hover near 8 sacks.

I just feel his main contribution will being that Closer; the timely sack to ice a game, making a crucial 3rd down run stop, or draws a holding penalty to stall an offense. He'll be that emotional catalyst which ignites the rest of the defense to take a voracious, going 100MPH attitude. That is what I expect from him than just mere statistical numbers.

Who's better/more valuable:

Brandon Marshall or Sheldon Richardson ????

Well, that is an interesting question; I think Marshalls impact on the offense will be immeasurable.  Our red zone offense should improve by leaps and bounds.  Our 3rd conversion rate should increase which should result in longer drives.  That will keep our defense off the field for longer periods of time, keeping them fresh.

I can't wait to see what Richardson can do in Bowles defense; I can see him being used at DE/DT even off the line; creating mismatches.  It's gonna be fun to watch.

Right, so who's more valuable? ;-)

Projecting conventional stats at this point is a fruitless endeavor. Rex's defenses were theoretically based on creating pressure more so than generating sacks; which is why Pace and Thomas' efficiency numbers were always high for the first 3-4 years while their sack numbers were low. I'm not so sure Bowels is looking for the same thing, but I sure hope so because I don't get the point in investing this much money into the secondary if we aren't going to be trying to force QBs to get the ball out towards them.

Then Richardson is more valuable. If we were to trade him for a receiver we'd do a lot better than Marshall. If we were to trade Marshall for a defensive tackle it wouldn't be anybody nearly as good as Richardson.

I was more so saying to the team...who has the bigger impact?  I feel like its Marshall in that respect.  I get that on the market we got Marshall for a 5th and now way in hell do we give up Richardson for a 5th.   But impact directly to the team, I feel like Marshall's presence is more valuable.  We've got a lot of big bodies on D.  I realize Sheldon is special but I would expect the loss of Sheldon wouldnt be felt as much as what I'm expecting Marshall to bring to the offense.

How many WRs in the NFL are better than Marshall in your opinion?

I feel like I just saw my pooch make this analysis on the front lawn this morning.
