He has excellent potential, but his tape leaves much to be desired . Seems like there's not too many folks who think much about the prospects in this draft. There is an article floating around about how "unsafe" offensive line pics are becoming, but I still hear that as a reason to pick Schreff. If he was still not ready to participate I would tend to agree, but since the Kid will be ready for training camp, he's as safe a prospect as anyone in this draft. The one word that is most associated with Brandon Scherff is "Safe". You have a kid who is projected at LT, RT and OG and all at a high level. At least by me he is . Last night I heard Tony Pauline say on that SportsNite show that the Jets should take Scherff, start him at OG and groom him to replace Brick Ferguson who's play is declining. His words, not mine. This is the exact plan I have in mind for the Kid since Ferguson can't be moved due to his contract before 2016 at the earliest . What position does Ferguson play again ? You don't have to like this player, but why so aggressively try to stop me from liking him. The Jets are going to do what they're going to do and I have no say in the matter. I just happen to think that this player can play LT in the NFL and play it at a high level. I am not of the opinion that an NFL LT has to be a pass blocking specialist. Like if DGB is available in round 2 do you get him? (tbh I would not be surprised to see him fall out of the 2nd round altogether) Over say a McKinney or a Dorsett? What about if Ali Marpet is there and Nate Orchard in round 3? Who do you go with if say you've got Mariota and a WR in rounds one and two? I would venture to say that all of these drug busted players and Police blotter prospects will either be off the Jets draft board or place on the back burner. I have heard Casserly say numerous times that when he was the GM, he let other teams deal with bad character prospects and he would move on to someone else. If it is just arm length there is an article out there indicating that arm length for T is not the be all end all.
