Are we that bad, or is he that good?

Extra Camp Arm.

May mean Simms is gone sooner than many expected.

May mean more insurance in case Fitz is Fubar.

IN any case, #4/#5 QB spot, so yay but minor importance really.

The New York Jets announced a few roster moves today.

The Jets have signed two tryout players from the weekend’s rookie minicamp, quarterback Jake Heaps and fullback J.C. Copeland. To make room on the 90-man roster, we have released two undrafted free agents signed right after the draft, cornerback Greg Henderson and safety Demarkus Perkins.

Matt Simms is a fan favorite but his road to making the roster in 2015 just got even more crowded. Earlier this offseaon the Jets traded for Ryan Fitzpatrick who will compete with Geno Smith. Bryce Petty from Baylor became the favorite to land the 3rd QB job when the Jets drafted him in the 4th round. With a new QB in town in Jake Heaps the QB competition got even more crowded.

Heaps (6’1″, 208) came out of Skyline HS in Sammamish, WA with a career 40-2 record and 114 touchdown passes to 18 interceptions as the top-rated QB prospect in the country by several recruiting services.

He played his first two seasons at BYU, then transferred to Kansas and head coach Charlie Weis (the former Jets offensive coordinator). He played at KU one year, transferred to Miami, and played sparingly for the Hurricanes last season (three games, no starts, 6-for-12 passing, 51 yards).

Once they get rid of Geno, everybody moves up a spot.
