Why Chan chose Geno so soon....

I feel the reason Chan. decided to make a quick decision is because he said he would Taylor the offence to the strengths of the quarterback. This takes time to implement a system into a team and I feel he believes he can best create a system to suit geno rather than Fitz. Geno has more upside, is younger, and I'm sure he is doing what he feels is best for the team. I'm sure he didn't just flip a coin and come up with Geno. I'm sure he feels he can bring out the best in Geno.

Look at some of the stats from Aikman, Payton, Eli, Elway, and more, they didn't do very good their first couple of years. And they weren't system quarterbacks like geno. I say give him a chance and if he doesn't produce, no excuses, Petty will be next in line 2016.

There is no decision, let alone a quick decision.  And who is this Taylor guy we are bringing in?   Lastly, you do not need to start a new, and completely redundant, thread by copying something you have already posted in an an identical existing thread, dumbski.

And that's the problem. Geno isn't a starting qb in this league. You guys can bring up Payton, Aikman, Eli, etc. but that sh*t was years ago. It's a different qb league nowadays. Most rookie qbs nowadays will show if they can start in this league. Look at Tannehill, Carr, Wilson, Luck, Newton, Kapernick, Bridgewater etc. They all put up gametape that showed they belonged in this league. They never looked overwhelmed with the job and none of these qbs put up monstrosities like the Buffalo game or running out the back of their own endzone. Geno just doesn't have. It's a fools errand to keep giving Geno all these chances.

What decision did he make? Pressed on the QB issue he said heading into camp Geno is the starter, as anybody would have expected. Like he's gonna name Fitz the starter, a guy who hasn't taken a snap here and is still injured/rehabbing. Of course Geno is the starter at this point, of course it's his job to lose. Doesn't mean he won't. He still has to compete and play well through camp/preseason to be the starting QB opening week.

Another guy who didn't watch the press conference. Geno's the starter come week 1 no matter what is basically what was said. He even brought up how they told Fitz that he's going to be the backup. Geno got handed this job.

Their was even a media member who brought up the question as to why their was going to be no competition. He cited Geno's turnovers as to why you'd want a competition and Gailey basically said he thinks he can fix Geno and his talent is through the roof. Gailey is going to be in for a rude awakening, much like Mornhinwheg come game day. Geno ain't a starter.

Suggestion: Watch the presser before you comment on it.

I just did, and if you did you'd realize that the example of the media member I brought up was in the damn press conference. Holy ****, take your own advice before you start spewing that bullsh*t at me. Watch the damn press conference.

You obviously didn't watch the presser. Either that or you did see it and yet decided to make up some horsesh*t that fits your "agenda". You can't possibly be stupid enough to think that Geno will start in week 1, no matter what. Is he the favorite? Probably. Will he end up being the starter? Probably. And that's exactly what Chan said. PROBABLY.

You know what he also said when pressed on the question. "Don't make me say it..." when it came to 100% confirming the starter. He was basically ******* hinting/stating that he had the job the entire conference. He confirmed their would be no competition.  If you could read what Gailey was trying to get across was that Geno was the starter. Holy ****, watch the press conference. He admitted that they told Fitz that he would be the backup and that their wasn't going to be a competition for the job.

I don't even know why I bother replying to people who don't watch the sh*t they try and talk about. Cool fact, in the time it took you to pull up that video and make that dumb post, you could've been 2 minutes into that press conference and had a much better idea as to what you were talking about.

There's no point in watching it again, it's a waste of time. You're absolutely insane if you think Geno will start in week 1 no matter what. That's all there is to say.

Watch the video again. Unless Geno's injured he's starting is what was said. Gailey even states that unless he plays bad over a period of time he's not losing the job, that period of time being games. He states that Geno will not lose the job in preseason or practices. Might want to work on your comprehension skills their bro if you did actually watch the press conference. And by bro I mean never my bro.

Now that we have established how insane you actually are we can finally move on.

And not one quote or summary of what happened in the press conference to prove your point was seen that day. Your actually quite right on being insane, I'm arguing with people who literally have no clue what their talking about and either, A. lack comprehension skills, or B. didn't watch the video their talking about. I'd chalk it up more to naivety though, expecting you to be able to think was clearly an overestimation of your skills, my apologies.

I think you are going to be upset at the start of the season, without watching the press conference I could tell you Geno is our starter week 1 if he doesn't get injured, I would be willing to bet on it. Fitz hurt, Sims sucks, Petty needs time to sit....only thing that makes sense is to play Geno. I think everyone is getting caught up in the fact that Geno isn't great and forgetting that none of the QBs we have are, how many teams do you think would actually start Fitz this year? 2 or 3 at the most...and that isn't because he is a good QB but because their QB situation is that bad.

I did quote him. He said exactly what I told you multiple times already, but it seems like you have a blockage inside your head somewhere that won't allow you to understand what people are saying, that makes you create your own bullsh*t. I also asked you a very simple question and once again you go on and on about your made up horsesh*t that doesn't reflect reality instead of just giving me a straight answer. Maybe it really is the tinfoil.

Finally watched the video, that was worded a little more strongly then I had assumed. Don't like it. I get trying to put confidence in the young player, but I'd prefer to put him on notice that it's improve or you are done for

Why are you so disrespectful to other Jet fans? Every retort you have is of a negative manner, and adds nothing to the discussion.

While other fans ask Mods to get rid of trolls from other teams, mostly the Pats, if they want to keep this an interesting place to catch up on & discuss the Jets, poster like yourself should be banned.

Your a typical internet troll, posting things you would never say to another fans face because they would surely knock u out!

Hands down the worst QB in the NFL the last two years.  Not bottom half or even bottom third but the very worst starting QB in the NFL for 100% of his time in this league.  And now we get this.

Chan Gailey specifically said Geno would not lose his starting job in camp or the preseason. He also said the only way Geno loses his job is by paying poorly over a period of time in the season. My guess is you didn't watch the press conference and are just spewing bull **** to get a rise out of people.

I love how so many fans think that somehow a guy who has been playing QB since he was a little kid doesn't understand that his current level of play is causing the team to lose games and that somehow putting him on blast is going to set off a light bulb over his head and either turn him into Peyton Manning or get him to quit the sport and leave the business.  Geno is not getting the job done right now and is a sub par QB because he stinks, not because he doesn't understand or feel like his job is in jeopardy.  The best way to maybe get something out of him is to work with him and develop his talents (whatever they are) and try and round out the rough spots.  You don't do that by coming in and ripping him on day one.  Chan took an objective look at his QB's and sees that right now Geno has the most upside and the most aptitude to carry this team this year.  If you are being objective, he is correct.

So alternatively, a guy  who has been playing QB since he was a little kid doesn't understand that his current level of play is causing the team to lose games and that somehow handing him the starting job without having to compete for it is going to set off a light bulb over his head and turn him into Peyton Manning
