32EBoozer
John Moffitt reportedly unretiring 2 years after abruptly walking away 2d - NFL JOHN MOFFITT +1 more Two years after he drew national attention by walking away from the NFL during the season with $1 million left on his contract, offensive guard John Moffitt has reportedly decided to attempt a comeback. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, who also trains several NFL players in mixed martial arts, said Tuesday that Moffitt, who he has been training, has decided to unretire. Last year, Moffitt was arrested on battery and drug possession charges at a Chicago nightclub, where he was found with cocaine, ecstasy pills and marijuana. Glazer said on Twitter that Moffitt, who turns 29 in October, went to rehab to "clean up his life" and "beat his demons." The Denver Broncos, who still own Moffitt's rights, will release him, Glazer reported. In November of 2013, Moffitt quit the NFL at age 27, saying he'd lost his love for the game and was tired of risking his health. "I offered a service, and I no longer wanted to offer the service and I no longer request money for it," he told ESPN The Magazine shortly after his retirement. "You can change a passion. You can change a dream. I had the NFL dream, and it was no longer what I envisioned. I don't expect people to understand."

TJ
Coke, ecstasy and pot. Maybe if he was doing LSD and heroin also, I'd consider it.
SenorGato
I had no idea Moffitt ran into drug problems. Loved him coming out of Wisconsin, but big pass with all these young guards to try out and two years off.
sirlancemehlot
No way. Let him make his bones in the CFL foe a year. Then maybe he'll be worth talking about.
Ken Schroy
He'll quit again a week into any training camp. I think this is true.
Il Mostro
If you cannot "beat your demons", I guess beating your wife or gf is the next best thing. Pass on this lowlife POS.

David Harris
I know the drugs aren't an issue but I expect the 49 LB Borland to unretire in a year or two. The real world is rough
