Really good article. What people do not realize I think is that we will NOT be running Buffalo's offense. We will be running a new system specifically tailored to the talent we have and built around Geno. Gailey has stated this verbatim. So those who think that Fitzpatrick has this huge knowledge gap over Geno are mistaken. The Jets offense this year will be UNIQUE.

We are likely to run an offense very similar to the one described in the article, one that will require a lot from the offensive line because it will be zone based, and read based. That is why they are running so many different combos of OL so far in camp.

Don't expect to see a lot of 3 step timing throws in the offense. It will be spread married to a power run scheme from the same looks.

The only area we may see some issue I think this coming season is we may  not be super strong at 3rd and 1 type situations where you need to just pound it in their for a yard. Look to see a lot of quick screens, draws and quick flats in these types of situations and short goal line may be a little bit of a learning curve for us as well.

One thing is for certain it will be nothing like the offenses under Rex. So excited to see it in the first preseason game. Preseason will be much more exciting this year because of all the changes.

So Rex was not only the GM but the OC?? Next we find out he's really the Jets owner as well.. :animal0029:

If you don't think Rex's imprint was ALL over the offense you are just in denial. There is a reason our offense looked exactly the same under 3 different OCs and continued to force the wildcat and all the ground and pound nonsense. Rex.
