Jetsfan80
Probably too early to be asking this, but this is the first time I've participated in a keeper league (in any sport) and was wondering what everyone's thoughts are. Plus, as you'll see below, my team is pretty damn good (currently in 1st place in a Rotisserie format) and I doubt I'll be making too many changes to the roster in the 2nd half of the season. So in this league, we can keep 7 players (officially decided upon up to 1 hour before the 2016 draft). The draft pick we used on the player in 2015 is irrelevant, we can keep any 7 we want with no penalty. That makes my decisions fairly easy for the most part, but I have a lot of talented guys to decide upon. Here's what I'm looking at: LOCKS TO KEEP (4): OF Giancarlo Stanton, OF Bryce Harper, SS Carlos Correa, 3B Manny Machado Remaining three spots' contenders: OF Yasiel Puig SP Sonny Gray SP Matt Harvey 3B Nolan Arenado 2B Kolten Wong SP Michael Wacha 2B/3B Anthony Rendon SP Jake Odorizzi OF Steven Souza OF Joc Pedersen I somewhat like the idea of pretty much only keeping hitters, since they're "safer" on a year to year basis. So I'm currently leaning towards keeping Puig and Arenado or Wong as part of a group of 6 hitters, and then choosing between Gray or Harvey as the 1 pitcher I keep. However, this league does employ a "max starts" system (175 per season), so its important to have "Quality over Quantity" when it comes to pitchers. Locking in Gray, Harvey and maybe even Wacha as well would give me enough quality arms where I can focus on offense in the draft. So JN......of those 10 guys I listed, which 3 should I keep? WWWWombat
That's a pretty OP keeper policy. Arenado, Rendon, and Harvey or Puig imo.

CrazyCarl40
Sonny Gray should be your pitching keeper if you go that way. And I like Pederson more than I do Puig. Just my opinion though.

I'm kinda liking these 7 best right now: Stanton, Harper, Correa, Machado, Gray, Harvey, and Arenado. 5 hitters and 2 pitchers. It'll suck to lose Rendon and both Dodger OF's, but under the format of this league, you really need 2 elite pitchers to carry your staff. A lot of baseball left to be played though. Never know how injuries could affect things.
