Giants will have better record than the Jets this year

First of all, I am a die-hard Jets fan for the past 47 years.  I begged my dad to take me to the Jets AFC Championship game in 1968 against the Raiders, and will never forget the joy I had at age 9 seeing the Jets go to the Superbowl.  So please don't think I am some Giants fan trying to get under your skin.

The Giants will have a better record than the Jets for 2 simple reasons:  1. They play in a crappy division.  Washington will be 2 easy wins for the Giants, and Philly and the Cowboys will both take steps back from last year, while the Giants take 1 step forward.  2. The Giants got Eli Manning at QB, and we have Geno Smith.

That is all you need to know.  If the Jets had either one of what the Giants have above, the Jets would be winning their division and going to the playoffs this year.  If the Jets were in the Giants division and the Giants had to play in the Jets division, the Jets would win more games even with Geno Smith as their QB.  If the Jets had Eli and the Giants had Geno, we win more games even in our division.

If the Jets were in the Giants division, and had Eli as our QB, we would be favorites to win the superbowl.

Does your crystal ball also spit out their records?

As for the crappy division, don't we play the NFC East this year?

Oh yeah, that's right. They have Eli. Who cares if their entire team stinks besides a couple of WRs? Who cares if the NFC East stinks mostly because of the Giants? Who cares if we have one of the beat D in the league? Who cares? They have a Manning. That's all that matters.

You old front running bitch, 47 years ago was the SB winning season. As well written and thought out as this is, I only respect old people with 48+ or 46 and under years as a jets fan. As to this supposed Raiders game you attended, I have an uncle who's spoiled crappy kid convinced his dad to take him to the Giants SB and that little grass fairy only like's soccer.

Ok, i'll play, but I don't necessarily agree with chalking up W's before the injury dust of training camp and preseason settles.

The Jets actually play against the NFC East this year. So if Washington, Philly and Dallas "take a step back", they also benefit.

Similarly, the giants play against the AFC East this year; which includes two greatly improved rosters (in Buffalo and Miami), and a team that can cheat its way through any setback.

So the question becomes, would you rather play against the AFC South (Colts, Texans, Titans, Jags) or the NFC South (Falcons, Saints, Panthers, Buccaneers), or more specifically, does the Jets roster offer a better chance to beat the former, or the giants roster to the latter?

Personally, I would rather have the Jets. The Jets defense playing against Bortles, Mariota, and Mallet, look better off than contests against Brees, Matty Ice, Cam Newton, and the Rookie Sensation.

The extra two games also look to favor the Jets. They play the week-1 Browns, and the week-8 Raiders. The Giants play the week-5 FortyNiners, and the week-16 Vikings.

Roster wise, schedule wise, and depth wise I think the Jets are better off this year than the gmen.

The only exception is at QB.

Eli is reportedly stronger this year, he's going to be better acclimated to Macadoos offense, and he gets his playmakers back healthy.

Geno just needs to learn a new offense (which should supposedly bet tailored to his strengths), acclimate to his new weaponz (who should theoretically hide his weaknesses, AND play to his deep ball strengths), and then, just not crap the bed enough to let the Defense/Folk lead our team to victories.

if only we could play the JETS, we'd have 2 wins easy.  :)

I think, all around,  we have a better team than the Giants, of course QB is a question mark with us and they have a solid one in Eli.  Personally, I haven't given up on Geno yet, I still think he has all the physical tools but we will see this year.

The Giants defensive roster is horses*it compared to the Jets!

Will Eli even see the ball?

Who's rushing the passer for the Giants? Just compare the Jets Dline & secondary to the Giants.

I foresee Geno pretty much eating a sandwich back there & playing pitch & catch with all his new toys. Plus, IF and that's a big IF the Giants get some pressure Geno will use his legs to exploit the lack of speed at LB for the Gmen.

Only tough game for the Jets out of this NFC East bunch will be the Eagles. Jets match up very well vs Skins (blow out), Giants (craptastick defense), Cowboys (Dez will make a few plays vs Revis), but the Cowboys defense is HORRIBLE!

Cowboys running game protected that sh*tty defense last year.

They ain't running on the Jets like they ran on Skins, Philly & the Giants crappy run defenses last year.

With Revis back & our deep Dline, I don't think we even realize yet with Bowles having all these parts to work with just how good this defense might be.

If we get through the 1st 4 games at 3-1, look out when Sheldon returns. Guaranteed without injuries Bowles defense gets BETTER as the season progresses.
