jeaniec
You're missing the point ... If Rex was doomed by the players given to him by his divisive, sh*tty, bean-counter GM's, then why does he keep seeking out the players that they "sabotaged" him with. For 6 years we listened to an ill-informed horde of Rex Ryan excuse-makers argue... wait for it... that it is not the job of the Head Coach to have input on the roster. These excuse makers spent countless amounts of time trying to defy what any casual football fan should consider the givens of the HC role. Why? Because they couldn't stand the thought of being unhappy with the cool uncle. Don't be them. From what I understand, Josh Johnson was brought because he is familiar with Roman's play schemes. I think it was Roman and not Ryan that suggested or requested Johnson. He'll probably be gone in a couple of weeks or once they know that Taylor is okay to play. drdetroit
Oh hey, just Rex bringing in yet another one of the horrible players that one of his dastardly GMs supplied him with... the "Rex had nothing to do with the roster" narrative crumbles more and more daily. obviously Rex is an idiot because Rod Woodson in his prime was available in free agency on October 14th

Integrity28
tell us who is the all pro caliber safety Wrecks is supposed to sign off the street in mid-October? That's not what the conversation is about. Nobody implied he should have found a starting caliber player on the scrap heap. And the collective "us" knows this is a stupid question, and irrelevant to the point made, so you shouldn't lump yourself in with anyone... you're on your own with this one. Beerfish
Rex likes the familiar, he likes players he has had around before even if they did nothing when he was there or are bad. Look at the Jets moves at safety, pick up a guy the Seahawks let go and replace the guy we kept after camp. A better former seahawk becomes available and we get him and let go the 1st seahawk, this player has to play for us and does really well in his game action. Too bad Eric Smith has retired. Dcat
If you listened closely enough, at the 4 minute mark you can faintly hear I bury Doug. PatriotReign37
Wonder if Trod called for a team meeting and if "Sam I am not" blew it off like Sant Holmes? Theres always some animosity in a Rex divided locker room between the QBs and rest of the team with Rex casting the tiebreaker vote.

Because they couldn't stand the thought of being unhappy with the cool uncle. Don't be them. Or input on the offense. Ryan continues, like his dad, to act like the offense are a bunch of morons who's only job is to not turn the ball over, rurn/run/pass only if you must, score a few points now and then and keep his beloved defense off the field for a bit. What Ryan gets; there are always going to be enough tomato cans in a 16 game schedule that such an approach with some luck has a decent shot at 8-10 wins, a little more with some luck. It's the quickest way to respectability but it's got a ceiling for success. But the Neanderthal, forward passing is evil approach will eventually fall to a superior offense. Any defense is going to fail a few times a game. The rules almost mandate that. And against superior QB, it's gonna fail more than that. And on those days your offense has to a bunch more to win than what Ryan's offenses so feebly do.

I can only say this was an observation of some of us during the summer when he brought in people like Hunter when he should have been bringing in young guys who could help your team when injuries inevitably occurs This is the issue that a team address in the off season and not during the season when you have few choices available
southparkcpa
A post from a Bills site ..... Season can still be saved. Pegula needs to replace Ryan with Swartz Pegula made a mistake hiring Ryan. Understandable that he wanted to make a splash but there is no need to fix what is not broken. Replace Ryan with Swartz. It should not be a big deal as the players know Swartz scheme so it could be an easy transition. Keep the offensive staff as is but fire anyone who thought Cassell should be the starter. You don't want anyone near your football them that thinks Cassell is an NFL QB. This would be an unprecedented move and viewed by many as crazy but desperate times call for desperate measures. People will like it just fine when we have our top 5 defense back and T-Mobile puts up some points.

SweetLee83
Ehhhhh, jury is still out on Rex for me. This season depends on who we get back from this mountain of injuries we have. Our schedule gets much easier the rest of the way. We've lost to the two best teams in the AFC who haven't lost a single game, combined. The Giants who are playing really well and will likely win their division. We have lots of guys out.We can very easily be 5-3 by taking down Jax and Miami at home.Right now even, the Bills have more or as many wins than 10 other AFC teams. Long way to go. I'm not worried. Yet.

Matt39
Standing at his locker following the loss, the usually mild-mannered Williams wasn't shy about voicing his frustration with Rex Ryan's defensive scheme that has called for him to drop back in coverage a lot more often than he's accustomed to. "Playing the call," as Williams put it, resulted in three Andy Dalton touchdown passes and the second game with more than 30 points allowed at home. Williams, who had 38 sacks in his three seasons in Buffalo prior to Ryan's arrival, wants to be more aggressive. He has just two sacks this season. Snell41
I watched Rex's full post game presser. On and on about dumb penalties..... He is genuinely befuddled by his team committing stupid penalties, yet it has been a hallmark of every team he's coached. He talked about actually having to bench players if necessary yet the guy will never look in the mirror. I know someone who plays guitar that is the exact same way as Rex. He will drunkenly stumble through a nearly unintelligible solo, yet walk off the stage like he's Jimmy ******* Page. It just never even phases him. And even more is people still eat it up . It's like because this guy walks around acting like he's a god, everyone thinks he must be when he sucks. It's almost like its a psychopathic personality or something, I don't get it.
