The Jets have the # 1 Defense in the NFL

he chose to stay in a great situation rather than go start for a crappy team.  what is wrong w/ that? he will basically get one more shot, if he fails he will be a career backup.

probably as mad as you were when mark was helping us reach title games.

Hahaha... Being a back-up is a "great situation?"  I guess that's true, if you have no desire nor ability to start.

You realize that there's 0 evidence to support your narrative surrounding Sanchez's thought process, right?  It's something you've entirely crafted.  In reality, and not your imaginative analysis of Sanchez's psyche, he's a back-up QB and nothing more, a role that he's accepted for himself.

Hope we can get better pressure on Brady then we have been getting on the QB.

i still believe our secondary is pretty exploitable and putting Tom Tom's helmet in the turf will help that out immensely.

Love what this D is growing in to.

if this D stays healthy, it could break quite a few records

The supposed defensive 'genius' that is Rex Ryan (not), has turned a prolific Buffalo defense mediocre as only he can. By placing players out of their comfort zone so that he can create his wayyyyyy too complicated blitz scheme's that already have Darius and Williams frustrated to the point of going to the media and saying "Rex needs to let us rush more." Can't tell you all how much I love Rex......being in Buffalo.

Philly signed him before he could become a FA or he'd be starting somewhere.  In philly they are calling for Mark, I saw articles where in dallas and DC they wish they had Mark and others do as well.

Fitz was 4-1 in 2011 too, how did that end up? when Mark was 4-1 he helped us reach a title game.  Let this thing play out.

No one forced Sanchez to re-sign with the Eagles.  If he was such a hot commodity, he could have signed with another team and started somewhere else.  He stinks.

Fitzpatrick is better than Sanchez.

a guy that won 5-6 games late in 2010 through the sir or we wouldn't have made the playoffs but yeah we'd be better w/ a guy that has never won more than 6 games in a season.

I am rooting for Fitz, I have moved on but I won't allow people to change history.  I hope Fitz plays like he did last week rather than the first 4 games where he tried to lose games.

More like three.  And he had to win those games late because of the putrid offensive performances he put up the first three quarters.

I like how people talk about the late game drive he had against the Colts in the 2011 playoffs.  Well, he led the offense to 0 points in the first half and only 17 overall.  That's pathetic.  He's lucky the defense was really good and held the Colts to 16.

Totally. Same thing when they give him credit for the win over the Chargers in the playoffs where he threw for like 100 yards -- and our defense held them to 7 points when the game was still in contention.

Nyjunc says Sanchez was the man that day.  Yes, a 100 yard performance blew him away.

Taking the whole "he won a playoff" game BS in to account, how would you not be screaming for Tim Tebow to sign with the Jets?  He's won more playoff games than Fitz, and he's still out there.

The Jets have surpassed the Denver Broncos as the number one defense in the NFL - # 1 in total defense, # 1 in points allowed and 3rd in rushing defense.

This is what the Jets have been missing.

We just have to take better care of the football on Offense and this team can be special.

The real question is can we beat the Patriots and whatever method of cheating they are using right now?

to be fair, their field goal kicker pretty much gave us the game....

Exactly.  The offense's job is to put up points.  The goal should be to put up 25+ points on the scoreboard each week.  You can't control what the defense does.  Your job is just to put up points.  And just because you won the game doesn't mean you played well.  You put up 17 points on a team that was allowing 25 points per game.  Meanwhile, You credit the defense for holding the other team's high powered offense that averaged 30 ppg at home to 16 points.

a backup w/ a good offensive coach and offensive talent around him is better than going to a crappy team and getting beat up and ruining his last real chance to be a starter.

he re-signed on his own, Philly offered him a nice contract, overpaid for a backup, and he decided to stay where he was comfortable.  what is wrong w/ that?

he wasn't "the man" but he was better than the overrated Rivers who handed us that game.  he did play a lot better than the #s indicate but fans are too fixated on fantasy #s to realize that.

Tebow won ONE playoff game, at HOME in a year he led a team to an 8-8 record.  mark helped us win 4 ROAD playoff games including 2 div rd games over the AFC favorites each year.  one was a fluke, the other was not.

Why is Fitz on team #7? why has he played for 4 teams the last 4 years? why can't teams see his greatness?

The Kicker missed 2 makeable FGs but the "great" Philip Rivers handed us the game making the big mistake from his own EZ to set us up taking the lead on a TD which was a GREAT play by our rookie QB.

Yes, but you see, that is nyjunc's thought process, not necessarily Mark Sanchez's thought process.  Just because you can come up with an excuse for why he's not starting doesn't mean that it's reality, especially when history dictates that players take the money and the opportunity to start, regardless of the team.

you can ignore reality all you want.  he's better than at least half the starting QBs around the league and would have been one of the top FAs if he made it to FA.  Philly overpaid to keep him and he decided to stay where he was wanted rather than go to a new team and play in his 5th system in 5 years.

It's amusing that you accuse others of ignoring reality when you literally invented a narrative to support your point.

No - Carr, Foles, Bortles, Stafford are better. Vick is not a starter.Neither is Mallet.

I was using his list. he's better than Landry Jones and the other guy in Houston too.

Carr  and Bortles are still developing.

He took Foles O and was MUCH better a year ago in Philly against tougher portion of sched.

Stafford is nothing more than a #s guy.

Don't sweat it, if Bradford throws a dozen or so INTs this week, Chip may have no choice but to go to Sanchez.   Maybe.
