So what are the Jets prime need positions for 2016 draft?

Who knows where we will be picking, as it stands now late teens early 20's I think.

I would be okay with a QB for sure.  I would be okay with an oilineman.  I would be okay an pass rushing OLB.

Not sure if I am out to lunch but WR seems weaker this year.  If the right RB is there I wouldn't balk at that either.

Can't see a dlineman, at all, even BPA unless we deal one of our starters.  Would be surprised at a CB or S, would be surprised but not super upset at an ILB.

I don't like taking ILBs high.  It may be outdated thinking, but I feel G, S and ILB are positions that you can find anywhere.  If you are getting an ILB in the first he had better be one of the tops in the draft (ie WIllis).  That's just me though.  It seems lately there have been years with runs on OG (2013) and S (2014).  Maybe the year of the ILB is coming.

CB, OLB and a RT should be priorities

Definitely time to start rebuilding the offense line. Pick one thru three. Strong pass rusher pick one or two. Young RB pick three thru five. Another QB depending on CS evaluation of Petty and there thinking on retaining Geno. Pick four thru seven.

positions we really need are QB, RB, LB, OL and I would put the need for those positions in that order I think. QB is obvious, RB simply because I don't think Ivory can play a full season without another back to compliment him (if we keep Ivory that is), LB because they are the weakest point in our strongest side of the ball (on paper) if we get some stronger LBs it might make things easier for our DL and our secondary and of course OL which is a problem we are going to have to take care of sooner or later...our best players are starting to get old I could see our OL becoming one of the worst in the NFL if we don't begin addressing it.

Well if the Jets picks within the top 5 or 7 picks they should take a QB, C or a RT G, Mangold and the Brick are getting old Mangold seen to be getting injury each season.  I'm hoping Pretty get to plays some this season I like this kid.  2016 drafts QB, OT G RB TE Rebuild that offensive of lines. DB DB SS FS.

Even if Lorenzo Mauldin turns out to be a solid and consistent pass-rusher, I'd still like to see us go after another OLB. OL, guard and a tackle. ILBs, would like to see an athletic ILB that is solid in coverage. I like Gilchrist as a FS but I don't think he'll be here that long with that salary (making 8 million/year).

And the obvious... QB.

The guy I would love to grab at OLB is Noah Spence, the ex Ohio State player. Great talent, but the red flags can't be ignored.

OK Here a list of players that coming out for the 2016 drafts next year who I like to see the Jets pick in the first round.   And they are QB's Connor Cook Paxton Lynch Jared Goff. CB, Jalen Ramsey Vernon Hargreaves III, Mackensle Alexander RB, Ezeklet Ellott Derrick Henry OLB, Myles Jack Jaylon Smith DE, Joey Bosa DeForest Buckner and Shaq Lawson.  Any of these players jets need to take with the 1st rd pick.  Does anyone like who on this list and who would to like to see the Jets take with the no# pick.

I think they need to go with either the best available offensive playmaker or best available Offensive Tackle. We need them both.

Would be pleased with a Free Safety.

Would not be upset with a man corner or a fast lb who can cover or get to the QB.

Wouldn't argue if a QB fell and they took him. I think the staff like Perry enough to pass. What QB would be there around our pick? In later rounds? Sure.

Safety is the least of their worries right now. OT, OLB, RB, CB are all areas of need. Future QB as well of Petty isn't the goods.

Though I understand your stance, this is a passing league. Gilchrist is a little over paid and has missed games. Allen will be coming off an acl- I like Allen and really hope he can recover; but, if he can't or the FO doesn't want him back- if there is a top Centerfielder, I don't know if I could pass it up. It's not really the "least of our worries." Ronald Martin and Dion Bailey aren't exactly lighting the football-world on fire.

Defend the pass well, find the qb who can consistently score more than your D allows. Especially with the players on the line.

Though like I said, I would be pleased. I wouldn't be jumping out of my skin excited.

1) QB - regime has to find "their" guy.

2) OT - Don't wait till it's too late.

3) Pass rush specialist.

4) Derrick Henry

You are on the Henry bandwagon?  Tall, runs upright, good north south runner but hardly a juker.  If he goes to a team with a monster run blocking oline he'll do well but I have my doubts bout him.  Would rather have Elliot that can do it all, catch passes block and run.

I've been happily on that wagon since 2014. I love Henry to pieces... but you're right - he needs a power-running scheme to have success. Sort of like Murray if you will. Not going to light the world on fire in some kind of spread-hybrid.

Preposterous to say he needs a monster oline though (imo).. You could say that about bringing Larry Johnson out of retirement. Henry is MORE than capable of creating yards that aren't there and carrying a team on his back, oline irregardless. Not to mention he's a beast in pass-pro.

D. Henry

E. Elliot

K. Hunt

A. Collins

K. Dixon

That's how i see at the moment. If Connor declares I'd probably slide him before/after Collins.

CJ Prosise if he declares is going to be a great pro.

I don't like him better than those 5, but he's definitely on the fringe - along with Johnson, Booker etc...

The next 2 draft classes are dripping like wet panties with talent, which is awesome because it'll go along way to replacing a TON of uninspiring RBs in the NFL presently.

I don't know, even with people declaring Bamas oline not to be as good as in the past when I watched him run a lot of holes were as wide as dump trucks.  I just don't see him creating plays from nothing in the NFL.

I definitely saw plays, as you described, where he had an airport runway ahead of him... but i also saw him truck over fools, work for those inches, and make nice cuts. I can't fault anyone for wanting a more scheme diverse back, but to say that Henry is anything less 3 down back with ridiculous upside - is short sighted IMO

Honestly, there's some gimmicky offenses out there, but generally speaking you need a Henry in the NFL if you're going to win consistently - especially in December. Unless Tom Brady is your QB, you need to lean on your running game to close out matches. Control the clock, win those 4th quarter time of possession battles, keeping your defense fresh, etc. The Duke Johnsons of the world aren't those guys.

that's my feelings on the subject.
