If (big if) the Patriots get Edelman back by the playoffs and suffer no further season-ending injuries to key players, the only teams with a realistic shot of beating them in the playoffs are the Giants (at least 50/50 chance to win), Cardinals (25% or less), and Bengals (10% if in Cin).  All other teams have anywhere from a 5% chance to no chance whatsoever.

All odds in the previous paragraph provided by the late Pete Axthelm of "Pete's Picks".

Forget Cincy.  They are the NFL's biggest chokers, especially in the playoffs.

Probably right.  The AFC is really down this year thanks to the Manning/Luck injuries (and/or ineffectiveness), the worst offseason of Ozzie Newsome's career, and Leveon Bell's season-ending injury.

If the Steelers had a healthy Ben and Bell, they would be a tough out for anybody.

+1 The last time they won a playoff game Boomer Esiason was the QB..

LOL!  Good lord.  How the frig did Marvin Lewis survive all those disasters?

Pats w/o Jules and Lewis is a major ding, add to that their OL is awful.... Pitt will play pats in 2nd rd and have a good shot at beating them.

Loss of those guys is massive.  But, experience tells you the Pats will find a way to survive.  Plus, Brady is on a mission to shove his balls (figuratively, although literally is possible, I guess) right into Goodell's mouth.   As long as Ben is at QB, the Steelers always have a chance.

This really doesn't bother me much at all. The sooner you start looking at football as just some entertainment and stop letting it affecting you in this way.....the better off you'll be. Sure I want to see the jets win, but if they don't, oh well. I go outside and play football with my boys and life is good . If the patriots winning a superbowl is affecting you this much then it's time to find something that's actualky important to worry about

Yep... I still watch but it doesn't effect my mood in the slightest. A SB appearance might though, if it ever happens

Going up to my parents end of the year for my birthday.  We should meet up at the Turning Stone casino and see if you make me vomit on first sight.

Im going with no, I'd imagine you've trained yourself not to waste food like that when it's about to be stored in fat cells

Heading up 0n the 27th and staying till the 2nd.  We usually do the casino on the 28th.  We all go up, hit the epic buffet (full fatso) and then game for a few hours.  They got a nice game room for the kids.  My daughter won a pair of BEats headphones out of a game.  Better than a 6 years old faded stuff grey elephant any day.   You should come down, we can gamble, have a couple drinks, stomp you out and then wave goodbye as ladyfriend is carting you off to the trauma center.  So convenient that SUNY health Science Center in Syracuse is practically on the way back to Rochester.  Can't wait.

My problem is the only gambling I enjoy is poker but I'm disciplined and could potentially sit there for hours folding if I get bad cards.  I guess I could donate 100 scoots to the slot machines as that's the only thing the LF will play..  it's just annoying though..  wasting money on that when I know if I go sit down and am left alone I'd likely win a bunch.

But yeah..  it could be a nice reason to give the LF a night out.  I think I'm in.

Agreed re Edelman and Lewis, mon.  But Edelman has a decent chance of being back for the playoffs and their OL is average to above-average as long as they don't lose anyone else besides Solder.  Plus Brady is 8-2 lifetime against the Steelers (including 2-0 in the playoffs, both at Heinz Field).   That History + No Bell = Zero Threat.

Edelman will not be effective, the Jones fracture is serious, Dez has struggled and he is a straight Line runner. Pitt is a serious threat to Patsy.  Pats secondary is average to below average and Bryant didnt play in 1st game. Pats OL is way below average, if they called holding correctly, they would be considered putrid

I didn't read through all 3 pages of posts but I will just say that I have a ton of respect for both Brady and Belichick (cheating scandals aside).  Even though I'm a Jets fan I'm also a football fan and they've had a remarkable run being this good for 15 years (and during the salary cap era!)

I still think both might be the GOAT at what they do.   And I still say the worst day in Jet history (and this is saying something) was when Belichick resigned as "HC of the NYJ".

You said what was on my mind. This is a form of entertainment and a business. If you can enjoy the game as a game, be happy for a few hours after a win, and just walk away to do more important things when they lose, you'll be a happier camper.

This will be the 5th straight year (and 6 out of the last 7) that Marvin Lewis made the playoffs.

Other than BB, no other HC has done that.

Yea, he's a complete disaster.

And?  How many playoff wins or Super Bowl appearances (I won't even say SB wins as it's beyond comical), dunce?  How many crushing loses?  Right.
