Gas2No99
Catapano most likely done with lisfranc injury. Per Cimini in ESPN JETBLOG: The Jets didn't receive good news on pass rusher Mike Catapano, who went for tests and could have a Lisfranc injury. It can be a tricky and serious injury. Bowles said they expect him to miss at least two weeks, mentioning the possibility of putting him on injured reserve. It's a tough blow for Catapano, who was called up from the practice squad only three weeks ago and was given a role as a pass-rushing specialist. He was injured in the first half on Sunday. joewilly12
Unfortunate but this is the NFL next man up time for Macca to search other teams practice squads for a pass rushing DE or OLB.

CrazyCarl40
I'd imagine we'll see the OLB we took from the Colts active. Supposed to be solid on specials and the Jets sure could use some help there.
fastmover
That's just like Jets luck, a player shows us something and bam... He's injured! I hope he recovers well and continues to grow as a football player.
flgreen
i think the Jets Docs are saying he needs surgery. I read he's getting a second opinion, if they concur, he'll be IR'd. Shame.

chirorob
awful news. basically killed santonio's career That's the first thing I thought of. I'm sad for the Jets, but I feel really bad for him. He finally gets on the active roster, is making some plays, and this happens. Such a tough break, I really hope, for him, he is able to come back. Nostradamus
I know this much, the staff really like him. Solid locker room guy. Hard work ethic. He'll be back. What a crazy thing. Guy goes from having this article come out Sunday morning showing his parents all proud of their son playing for his team his family grew up rooting for. Is having a great first half and sacks Manning and on the VERY next play in weird freak injury his foot breaks. Damn. Crazy. Would make for a great comeback story. Wishing him the best. http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/mike-catapano-s-long-football-journey-led-him-to-jets-1.11196129

Ohio State NY Jets fan
Small world, just ran into someone at work who knew him and asked how he did on Sunday, I said he did great, had a sack but also unfortunately had an injury... Great article, expect he will fight through this too, dream come true, even for a moment is still a worth fighting for, best of luck on the recovery

Gas2No99
UPDATE: Mike Catapano - DL - Jets Jets fear DE Mike Catapano suffered a season-ending foot injury Week 13 against the Giants. Catapano was carted to the locker room late in the first half and never returned. Coach Todd Bowles said after the game Catapano may have injured his Lisfranc ligament. With New York desperate for speed on the edges, Catapano has just started to find a role in the defense. He is likely done for the year. #27TheDominator
LIsfranc is like saying knee. There are tons of levels of injury and there are bones and ligaments. I apparently had a break there as a kid and didn't even know until 20 years later when it bulged up and the doctor asked me when I broke my foot. I said I didn't and he told me "Yeah, you did. Years ago." Worked back from his estimate and it was probably during a car accident way before. Some will be completely debilitating and others Holmes supposedly had one of the most severe, but some of what I have read indicates no statistical significance to decreased performance though guys miss 9-15 months.
