prime21
Miliner hurt his hammy. Seriously at this point I am just feeling bad for the person and not so much the player. It must be an amazing feeling being drafted into any sport but because you are getting injured over and over it must really take a toll on your psyche. For us he's a bust and waste of a pick but in the overall scheme of things such a sad story for a skilled young man. He's buried on our depth chart and will probably be cut one day. Maybe we will see him on someone's roster one day and just maybe he can get in a full season and live out his dream of playing football.
LIJetsFan
He had numerous injuries before he was drafted and numerous injuries after he was drafted. Thanks Idzik.
Rangers9
I would not get rid of him. When he did play briefly after Rex had benched him in 2013 he looked pretty good. They must have thought he was improving in practice because they activated him yesterday. It will be interesting this off season to see the moves Mac makes on guys like him and Geno. Does he keep them because of ability or get rid of them and go forward,. IMO keep both of them.

The guy is taking up a spot from some who can and WANTS to be out on the field. How the hell did he even hurt his hammy, he doesn't even play! EM31
To the people who argued over and over again that Milliner was not fragile, that he did not have an injury history in college and that even if he did, that injuries in college are no predictor of future injuries in the NFL.... Those people have to be feeling pretty damned stupid around about now.
CrazyCarl40
Drafting Milliner cost the Hets Tyler Eifert, who is also injury prone but far more talented. I was banging the table for him! That said, I don't think he's gone. I think he plays out his contract because the Jets need depth. He was active last night and McDougle was not. Cro is getting cut, Revis is not getting younger, Walls is a free agent m, and Skrine is an overrated slot corner. The Jets need Milliner for at least depth. He's still relatively cheap. Not as cheap as Marcus Williams, but not cost prohibitive either.

JohnnyLV
Hated the pick when we made it, hate it more now. Just cut him already. He played elite football at the tail end of his rookie year but that is a long time ago and he is ultra fragile. I think Idzik was 100% right in the way to build long term success, but man was he crappy at the drafting process.

If I recall correctly Simms mentioned the rule required the grab to be at the name on the jersey and above Pace had the jersey below that if memory is correct

ZachEY
Bowles may want to send another message like he did with Coples this isn't the same old Jets! Cutting Coples was financially advantageous. Cutting Milliner is a loss, as it costs us his entire salary in dead money and provides 0 relief. The message would be, we're dumb. Disagree Milliner is occupying a roster spot that could be had by a player who could stay healthy and help this team.

If he's IR'd, he's not. Also, you have to pay that player, which means it eats up even more cap space.

RevisIsland610
Why was the horse collar BS? I saw that and it looked legit. I'm a high school football official and that was not a horse collar. His hand was well below the shoulder pads when he pulled him down by his jersey. That was a bad call and not the only one of the night. The first thing you are taught as an official is if you are not 100% sure then don't throw the flag. I think he saw the player go down similar to a horse collar tackle but wasn't in position to see where the tacklers hand actually was. He should not have thrown the flag and that's why the officials had a conference after the play. I'm surprised they didn't pick up the flag.
