jetscrazey
Bowles always seems to coach down to Rex's sloppy Bills team. Here were the terrible decisions today: -Not taking a timeout before halftime to try to sneak in a FG with the wind to their backs. -Not going no-huddle when they had 1st and 10 with 3:57 left in the 4th auarter. If I learned anything from Rex's D during his time here, it's that he struggles against no-huddle, and Fitz excels in no-huddle. Bowles seems completely unaware of these facts. -Letting Revis continue to be burned by Watkins when it clearly wasn't working. -Brutal 3rd down defensive game plan. The d-linemen didn't seem to know whether to rush the QB or just sell out trying to contain Taylor, so they did an in-between and ended up stopping nothing. -This kind of defensive effort against Tyrod Taylor, who they saw earlier this season, is inexcusable. The defense had a "deer in the headlights" look to it most of the game. It has me wondering whether the coaches game planned at all.
Sperm Edwards
Leaving Richardson at OLB after Wilkerson went down. Would have been better off with an extra DB on helping Revis cover Watkins on 3rd downs, or just spying Taylor (or getting some speed to rush him) in general. Rex even bragged at halftime he was going to keep going to Watkins underneath, and then we watched him continue to do it. Ah I'm too drained to do more now. Maybe later. Joe W. Namath
The running playcall b4 the 2 minute warning was a huge gaffe. If we throw incomplete there, we punt, and have 2 timeouts and 2 minute warning. would have had the ball back ith about 1:45.
RevisIsland610
Bowles deserves a lot of the blame for today's loss. There have been many games this year where I have questioned his game planning and his defensive schemes and his clock management has sucked all year. Why was Watkins given so much space? Why wasn't he double covered? The one guy who can hurt you on that offense and that's exactly what he did. What about giving Ridley more touches than Ivory? Ridley sucks. 10-6 was a good year overall but I still have some serious questions about Bowles and if he really is any good.
rex-n-effect
IMO Bowles deserves 95% of the blame for the loss. Give the other 5% to the two kickers. We came out and played to protect our record not to win the game. This is the same thing that happened in the middle of the season. We got hot and when we needed to push to keep winning we instead decided to play soft and protect our wins. We were undisciplined, unmotivated and the game plans on both sides of the ball were ridiculously conservative. You saw it then and you saw it in this game. Defense played soft and the offense spent too much time running the ball with Ridley. This is without a doubt Bowles' biggest challenge to overcome. He deserves a break because he produced a 10-6 season and it's his first year but if he doesn't shake this off then he'll never get us to the promised land because we'll always sink when it counts the most. You can blame Fitzpatrick's bad plays for the loss but only if you include all of the other bad plays by other players. If you do that then the whole team looks like garbage and you're singling out Fitzpatrick because you don't like him or just feel the QB bears the burden of propping up the offense no matter how bad coverage gets or receivers fail to catch the ball. You could also point to the absence of Powell, who is undoubtedly a key piece of the offense, but it seems bizarre that we have an offensive scheme that relies so much on a checkdown RB that we couldn't have schemed around his absence. Even in Buffalo under Gailey, having CJ Spiller healthy was crucial. That type of running back is vital to the effectiveness of Gailey's offense.
