NJ
Matt Forte says the Chicago Bears are not going to re-sign him By Will Brinson | NFL Writer February 12, 2016 10:55 am ET Matt Forte confirmed the expected on Friday: the Chicago Bears won't be re-signing him this offseason. Forte, a second-round pick by the Bears in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Tulane, spent his entire career thus far in Chicago. It looked like he was done with the team as recently as November, when he issued some ominious comments about his future. The back confirmed he wouldn't return on Instagram on Friday, posting the following message: Despite my wishes, my days as a member of the Chicago Bears have sadly come to an end. I was informed earlier this week from the GM that they will not be attempting to re-sign me in free agency. I will remain forever grateful for my time spent in Chicago and being able to play for an organization with such a rich history. My only regret is not being able to win a Lombardi trophy for the best fans in all of sports. I'm excited about the next chapter of my NFL career. But, Chicago will always be home. God Bless and Bear Down! It's just not that surprising. Forte turned 30 in December and despite totaling 1,200 yards from scrimmage or more every single season in Chicago, he's a running back in a passing game. He's also under a new regime -- GM Ryan Pace is looking to revamp this roster, drafting Jeremy Langford last season and giving him plenty of run as a rookie. Forte won't find a market desperate to throw money at him. Even with his talents, his age is a concern (although his ability in the passing game is a big plus) and running backs just don't make major scratch these days. Forte is apparently done in Chicago. faba
As a rotation of backs he might be a fit. Not expecting Ivory top be resigned.

NJ
I'd be surprised if he didn't have 2 years of premium contribution available. He's a great check-down or target for a Fitz arm too.

Jet Nut
Old, injured and not all that effective. Hey, why not? At least we know his name, lol Actually if he comes cheap with no guarantees yes, why not. Not over Ivory as some want
PatsFanTX
Signs with New England book it. No way, both Lewis and White are better fits in the Pats offense than an over-the-hill Forte.
New York Mick
No. More name then substance. Pick up one in the later rounds.

jetsfan719
I think it would be a nice sign if cheap. Figure powell and forte and draft a rb we can groom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

CrazyCarl40
Wrong side of 30, could probably make more money on another team, but if he comes cheap, sure. Great hands out of the backfield and he wouldn't get the workload that he got in Chicago, but really Powell is younger, less wear and tear, and probably will come back cheaper. bealeb319
Love Forte think he would be a great fit for us even at his age. I think Mac will try to bring in Foster though once the Texans cut him.
jetscrazey
Don't be surprised if the Bills try to sign him. Rex is going to need to hedge his bet with McCoy in serious legal trouble.
RoadFan
Tennessee, Baltimore, Denver, Cheats, Giants, Packers are all varying degrees of possibilities. I think Tennessee and Baltimore make the most sense.

So that would come down too how bad the Jets want a dynamic runner
Jet Nut
Why are people lining up to sign a guy who is older, missed more games and was less productive than the guy on our roster? That we dont want to pay.
