Do you have to bring your own tailgate like at Metlife or is it like Green Bay where the area is surrounded by tailgating events?

Actually @joebabyny is doing a tailgate in Kansas City this year if I remember right. so I would follow him and ask him any questions you have about the tailgate location, price et al (I am now marketing manager for tailgateJOe lol). How do you like that @Maxman ?

you can being your own stuff in too. Only difference is they open the parking lots 4 hours before kickoff, not 5 hours like MetLife.

Hey guys, I'm going to KC this year (first trip to that city). Any recommendations on what to do or restaurants to visit? My one friend told me about riverboat casinos.

I'll be there as well.  Flying out Thursday night.  Staying at the Staybridge Hotel for Thursday -Monday.  I believe someone on here recommended it.  Will check out Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska or whatever if it I can see on Friday.  Saturday I plan on sight seeing in KC.  I haven't looked up restaurants yet but know there are some fountains and the Power and Light District is great.  Sunday I will be at the game.  Monday drive to St. Louis to do the Budweiser tour, Gateway Arch and see a St. Louis Cardinals game.  Tuesday drive back to KC and fly out Tuesday night.

It feels like September in NJ this morning and got me thinking: who is going where this year? I'll be in Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Have great trips planned around both.

What say the rest of you?

I don't know Buffalo well but this will be my third trip to Pitt (married into a Steelers family)- so can easily recommend Station Square and the overlook from the hilltop of the city.

I'll be at stay bridge Saturday night lol that was me. A bunch of us will be ubering from stay bridge to Westport Saturday night, tons of bars and restaurants there. Do the boulevard brewery tour while you're in KC too. They make good beer.

Lol you guys are nuts. Joe, you know I'm respectful & good on the road ... BP, I remember Cleveland. I got food dumped on me, too. I'm ready for a new experience. Not going to the Muni Lot. Found a calmer tailgate at a lot next to the stadium & not a mile walk like that one was.

I'm sure Pittsburgh will be fine since it's not the AFCCG, but who knows. Worst case scenario I'll have Max mail Joe & I out with all his million$.

I can't believe I got quoted and replied to by legendary Jets fan 124. I am honored!! You guys should go to KC next time, it's the place where tailgating was born. Joe bring your bull horn and whistle and Jets hard hat like at the Giants game lol and get back to me

Haha, I definitely wanted to do KC dude, but we don't have a ton of $ right now and CLE & PIT were cheaper to do total than KC was, but it definitely is on the bucket list for a future year.

Is that by the Power and Light District?  I was also told the hotel has some nice saltwater pool.  Not sure if it's a big deal or not but they made it sound like it was.  who knows.

That place is hopping! but a long ass way from arrowhead. if I was you I would stay there thursday-saturday and stay at staybridge saturday night because its pretty close to arrowhead (maybe 20 minute ride)

http://www.boulevard.com/age-verify/?r=http://www.boulevard.com

And Boulevard is the local brew in KC, its good stuff. you should do a tasting tour there when youre there.

Bringing my g/f with me so if I get too liquored up I have her to drive lol.  I don't mind driving a bit as long as it's something fun.  I got a good deal at Staybridge with some discount deal I had.

I hope you guys get better treatment than the last time we were there- it was ridiculous how bad those Brown fans were walking through their parking lot

Hofstra, I read up on Joes, how bad was the waiting line?

Irrelevant... The answer is "worth it".

Had a blast in KC, actually did Oklahoma Joes, Arthur Bryant's, and Jack Stack.  Joe's was the best by far.

Settled on Pitt.  Did you book your hotel yet?  Turns out it's Pitt homecoming.  Prices are outrageous.

We're staying at the extended stay america in Canegie, like 7 miles from the stadium. Idk the exact price, but i remember we got it relatively cheap because we booked in April

I haven't booked yet because it's a few families all getting involved, but that's fantastic news. Also, my central air that we installed new in 2014, broke yesterday  for the second time in as many years.

I was planning to go to the Pitt game because I figured tickets may be relatively cheap, but that might not be the case now I guess

The tickets are a fortune at the moment.  But, that's before the season starts.  Hopefully they drop as time goes on.  I'm betting they will.

That is much cheaper, still.  But, not sure I want to stay that far out of downtown, and with no flights, the additional cost is absorbable.

I hear you. It was a compromise. We chose to be a bit further away in Pittsburgh and like a block from the stadium in Cleveland. We can handle a taxi or Uber for a couple days

Makes sense.  And I know you said for you, it's a very brief trip.  For my dad and I, it's really more about the weekend then the game... At least recently, as our travel record has been awful.

The pitt tickets are one of the most expensive road games for the jets right now. Cleveland was way cheaper which is why I chose it.

I misunderstood, I thought he was talking about the Pitt Panther game the day before. I got my Steeler tickets for about $200 a piece, six rows from the field in the endzone

Steelers tickets are expensive, but they'll drop as the weekend approaches.  The earliest I've bought tickets in recent years is the friday before the game.  Always sit in good seats at a price that's reasonable.

It is the Pitt Panthers Homecoming.  I don't think the ticket prices will be that bad for the college game though.  According to my friend who's from Pitt and still lives there, they don't ever sell out, so you'll be able to get cheap gameday seats.  He actually thinks the hotel bump is due to the Steelers and not Pitt, which I guess you could test by looking at other Steelers home weekends.  The issue is, there's very few hotels in Pitt, comparatively, and so they can do what they want.  Oh well, saving $600+ on flights makes it a little easier to take.

Being serenaded by the "ass-hole" chants was quite an experience.  As long as the keep their hand and objects to themselves, it's all in good fun.
