Again, like I said you have never seen him play. You also don't know what schemes Bowles will use to keep lineman off of him.   Not comparing the two but when Ray Lewis was drafted alot folks thought he was undersized.  That is what your Dlineman is for; to occupy blockers so that the linebackers can make the plays.  How many times did yo see Ray Lewis taking on an Offensive lineman?  Hardly ever.

Seriously, he's built like a corner. The video up there is brutal

I guess people see what they want to see. In the immortal words of Hal 9000, "This conversation no longer serves any useful purpose."

I'll enjoy watching our Defense demolish people. Spence coming off the edge while Lee is flying all over the place fu*king people up.

Link to where we got Spence (not that he's any great shakes)?  That's what I thought.  Another lightweight jerk-off with a fantasy land draft.  Reality, man.  Try it.

Youre comparing the best midde linebacker in the NFL to Darron Lee? That's unfair and you know it

Obviously it's unfair, but still watch the Michigan tape I posted above. His instincts are terrible and he consistently gets manhandled anytime an olinemen as soon as breathes on him. He practically did nothing on the tape and was essentially a ghost on the field. Crazy how bad this guy's tape is considering he went in the first.

I guess so, how can you not see him getting pushed around and manhandled. They basically ran at him all game. I hope it works out, but not a fan. The season will tell.

Its a waste of a pick.  He's a hybrid safety/LB who doesn't have the physical body to play either position effectively. Not saying he's a terrible football player but he's nowhere near worth taking in 1st round.

What he needs to learn in those cases is to use his speed and dexterity as a weapon to escape those manhandles. Something that I think Todd Bowles can help him with. Darron Lee is not a finished product, by any means. Macc even acknowledged that in his post draft interview.
But at 20, you're not getting any finished products.

Then why was he graded in the first round by experts?

http://www.clarionledger.com/story/sports/college/ole-miss/2016/04/28/laremy-tunsil-admits-taking-money-ole-miss-coaches/83683484/

Moments before the draft began a video of Tunsil smoking out of a bong fashioned out of a gas mask was posted onto his Twitter account. When it had done its damage, moving Tunsil out of the top 10 entirely and to the Miami Dolphins on No. 13, the hacker started on Tunsil’s Instagram account.

There they posted screenshots of alleged text messages between Tunsil and John Miller, assistant athletic director for football operations, in which Tunsil asks for money to pay rent and also for his mother's $305 electric and water bill. In reference to the former, Miller makes a reference to "Barney." Barner Farrar is Ole Miss' assistant athletic director for high school and junior colleges.

“I made a mistake,” Tunsil said in a press conference. “That happened.”

Pressed if that meant he had taken money from a coach, Tunsil said, ‘I’d have to say yeah.’

This is potentially devastating news to Ole Miss, which is already in the midst of an investigation process with the NCAA. A notice of allegations (which included violations that led to Tunsil serving a long suspension during the 2015 season) was delivered to Ole Miss in January. A third party requested a 30-day extension earlier this month. While Tunsil was being asked if he had met with the NCAA, his agent Jimmy Sexton's assistant stopped the press conference and escorted Tunsil to a room down the hall before closing the door.

Yeah he's pretty much going to be off the field on first downs considering how ineffective he is against the run.

"The Jets need more players with real movement skills, and with Myles Jack's medicals pulling him down the board, Lee may very well be the next-best option. He won't impress anyone with his size (6' 1", 232 pounds), but remember that Jets coach Todd Bowles was in Arizona when Karlos Dansby and Daryl Washington were redefining what mobile linebackers could do. Now, Bowles has his own cover linebacker who can tackle pretty well, rush a bit and cover everything from curl-flat to seam routes. From that perspective, it's a good pick. Those who are unimpressed are just going to have to realize that the 230-pound linebacker is the wave of the future."

Todd Bowles took Calvin Pryor to new places last year we all thought pryor was a dud. Trust the man

Pryor was a missle in college and rex screwed him up by playing him out of position.  Pryor has the physical tolls to play his position. This smurf does not.20150_Australian_Football_Smurf_B.jpg

Pryor showed a lot more on tape then this guy did tbf though.

Thats fair but I will say Pryor went from being useless to arguably our best defender last year. Bowles knows what hes doing i think before we jump on Lee like typical jets fans we should see what hes got first. I agree its definitely not an exciting pick but LB was a need on the team and Mac felt strongly enough about Lee we were trying to move up so Rex didnt grab him

From SB Nation

20. Darron Lee, LB, Ohio State

The Jets needed to add speed and talent on their defensive front, and that's what they get in Lee. He's a rangy linebacker who has some potential as a pass rusher. Getting him at the No. 20 pick in the draft is something of a steal.

Grade: A-

We had an opportunity to get a guy like Myles Jack instead and we passed on him for a guy with terrible instincts and lacking strength. Straight depressing, we could have taken Jack and then gambled on Smith in the third. If both those guys recovered we'd have an insane lb core.

You can keep repeating that lie as much as you want and it will still be a LIE.  Myles Jack was passed on BY EVERY TEAM because of his injuries. How can you possibly complain about passing on him at 20????   Mac has a career in scouting plus hired AN ENTIRE NEW SCOUTING DEPARTMENT and you know more than all of them, right? Jesus Christ....

BTW Myles Jack is listed as 6'1 225llbs so please stop already.  Lee is the same height and is 7 pound heavier. If he is undersized what does that make Jack?
