kelly
Even exceptional NFL stays often don't last a decade. A player can crash from stardom into its unforgiving aftermath in a single play. The speed of football can take your breath away not only the field, but in the career arcs of the men who play the sport. It was March of 2014. Nick Foles was fresh off earning the Pro Bowl MVP award. Jairus Byrd was the No. 1 overall free agent in the entire league. Victor Cruz was coming off the first season of a hard-earned big-money contract. In football years, that spring feels like the Mesozoic Era. Now all three men are fighting to keep their jobs in hopes of extending their football lives as long as possible. Training camp starts this week. It's a time of optimism around the NFL, and a time of anxiety for many players. Below is our incomplete list of notable guys at risk of being released in the coming weeks. ~ ~ First-round picks running out of chances 2) Dee Milliner, CB, New York Jets:It's telling that Antonio Cromartie left town yet Milliner is no higher than fourth on the Jets' cornerback depth chart. The No. 9 overall pick of the 2013 draft is a remnant of the glacial period under former GM John Idzik. rest of above article : > http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000676537/article/camp-cuts-twentyfive-notable-names-on-the-bubble
jamesr
Bryce Petty is also mentioned further down that same article. Quote The last six-pack 1) Bryce Petty, QB, New York Jets: Christian Hackenberg is the new quarterback of the future.Geno Smith is the quarterback of the awkward present. If the quarterback of 2015 and his beard show up again, Petty could be out of luck.
joewilly12
I believe in Milliner and this is his year.
CrazyCarl40
Milliner won't be cut because it doesn't save any money and it's depth. He's not going anywhere. I also don't think Petty gets cut. I think they want to see him in the preseason and go from there. Hoping he takes a big leap forward.

jamesr
Interesting on this list ... two years ago I recall Jet fans screaming about us not signing Alterraun Verner - now he's on the verge of being cut.
