kelly
Philadelphia will reportedly host the 2017 NFL draft. The NFL has already chosen Philadelphia and is set to make the announcement soon, NJ.com reports. The only issue remaining is when and where the announcement will be made, according to the report. The league wouldn’t want to make the announcement this week because all of the attention in Philadelphia is on the Democratic National Convention. Three weeks ago a Philadelphia congressman said the city had been chosen, but city officials said no final decision had been made. After having the draft in New York City for decades, the league has decided to move it around from city to city. Chicago hosted the last two drafts, and several other NFL cities have expressed interest. Philly fans have always been vocal about expressing their opinions of the Eagles’ first-round picks, but that won’t be the case next year: The Eagles sent their first-round pick to Cleveland in the trade that allowed Philadelphia to move up in this year’s draft to select Carson Wentz. > http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/07/27/report-nfl-set-to-announce-philadelphia-as-2017-draft-host/

But they're not and never will be the big apple.
RutgersJetFan
They can have it. I've headed down to Grant Park the past couple years and to be honest the NFL Draft has turned into one of the weirdest events I have ever seen insofar that Goodell has turned the draft into a sad, cheap looking NFL version of Lollapalooza. Draft Town is a bunch of quasi-combine activities that are just strange as all hell, cone drills, field goals...etc. Adults actually go there and stand in long lines to do this while announcers cheer them on and Kady Perry plays in the background. This is usually surrounded by corporate sponsorship tents for extremely relevant-to-football companies such as Skittles and Bridgestone Tires. And then next to those tents are VIP sections which people literally shell out thousands for, so they can eat off buffet lines and have guaranteed seats for the first round. For the draft. Right in front of the fountain this year, they had two musical stages, one was called the NFC Stage. Want to guess what the other was called? Oh, and in all the gift shops, the morning after the first round, they already had the picks screened on to the shirts of their corresponding teams. Hats that simply said “CHITOWN IS DRAFT TOWN” and “ON THE CLOCK," so you can let everyone know that yes, you support the drafting of NFL players. Bizarre. Get that sh*t the **** out of my town already.
