Non-Jet Cuts

Didn't want to 'pollute' the other cut threads with non-Jet activity, so thought a separate thread would be best.

Kind of Jet related though ... Carolina have cut Stephen Hill, and Tampa have cut Jeremiah George and Jacob Schum.

All these ex Jet draft picks moving around and getting cut just again, reinforces the fact that the Jets were so bad at drafting for so long.  Not anointing Macc the savior but have to give him credit for the young talent and depth he's been able to bring here so fast.

Just read that Coples got cut by Rams. What a turd.

Lots of ex-Jets that people clamored for us to keep, after complaining we needed to get better, getting the axe from lesser franchises than ours. Our fans know a winner when they see one.

Several veteran Centers may become available. I wonder if any would consider sliding over to guard. (Not listed in order of interest.)

C - Bryan Stork, cut by Pats

Quote

Patriots waived C Bryan Stork.

Five days after it was reported the Patriots were releasing Stork, he's now on the streets following a failed trade to the Redskins that was nullified when Stork contemplated retirement and then ultimately failed his physical. Stork has a history of concussions and is known as a hothead. If healthy, he should eventually land on his feet somewhere for a second chance.

C - Jon Sullivan, being shopped for trade by Vikings

Quote

USA Today's Tom Pelissero reports the Vikings are trying to trade C John Sullivan.

This explains why Sullivan was held out of the Vikings' regular season dress rehearsal. At center, the Vikings are going with Joe Berger, who has history with new OL coach Tony Sparano, and who was excellent as a 16-game starter last year. Sullivan, 31, missed all of 2015 due to multiple back surgeries. If the Vikings can't find a taker, Sullivan will likely be released.

C - Patrick Lewis, being shopped for trade by Seahawks

Quote

PFT's Mike Florio reports the Seahawks are trying to trade C Patrick Lewis.

Lewis is signed for $1.671 million in the final year of his deal. He started 11 games for Seattle last season, grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 21 center. The Seahawks are moving forward with Justin Britt in the middle of their line. For what it's worth, Lewis is PFF's No. 7 center this preseason.

Not only that, but it means it's not just us not being able to develop players and that the player truly does stink. Our biggest fears are when a player leaves and thrives elsewhere

The Terrance Knighton cut by the Pats was interesting, especially this early in the cut period .  I remember when people were freaking out that Snacks left for the Giants.  Meanwhile many failed to recognize how much the NT position is getting de-valued league wide.  Knighton was a former 3rd round pick and was still considered one of the game's best NT's, yet only spent 1 year with Washington, signed with NE for a little over $2M and is now unemployed again.
