He will be signed by someone. He has 29 going on 30 plus starts. So he has basic knowledge on how to play the position. His contract depends on just how well he plays. If he's very very good Mac could give him an offer and a chance to be the starter next season. Playing well is his only chance to being a starter again here or elsewhere. If signed as a backup it still means he can play because there are injuries. Just look to see who needs a backup. Seattle, the Raiders have Mcgloin and Connor Cook but could Geno beat then out. A team that is dissatisfied with their backup Qb position mostly because the player when called on did not play very well. And there's always the Fins and Geno is from the Miami area. Actually both Fitz and Geno could be competing for the same jobs next off season.

You think you have seen geno pout here?  Wait until he sees the number of 0s in his next contract offer wherever that might be.

Geno has not been good when he played, but Marty ran a system way to complicated for him.  Let's see how he looks in Chan's system.

We will understand this situation much better tomorrow

The premise of my thread had nothing to do with how good or bad he does tomorrow or rest of season

He is a goner next season no matter what IMO

Geno is a bottom five starting QB, but he's probably a top five backup QB. He's going to have a backup job for the better part of the next decade if he chooses. I'm sure he'll get a chance to compete for a starting job somewhere, but he'll be in this league for a long time.

Depends how he behaves.  Outside the Jets, very few teams reward back up players for distracting drama.
