It was an ACL. Same as Geno, except it happened in training camp. He doesn't rely on his athleticism, so he can be back fine like Flacco/Brady were plus he'd have a full year of recovery.

Might have been an ACL but it was also a dislocated knee cap.  Described as gruesome

We're in the purgatory hell we always find ourselves. We're not good enough to trade to bring in talent, and people think we're too good to make trades that benefit the future. Round and round and round we go.

Teddy Bridgewater is the franchise qb of the vikings...he is not leaving their roster anytime soon. Bradford was an expensive temporary fix because they believe that the can make a Superbowl run this season. Idk where people on this forum get these crazy ideas that any team is going to willingly trade their franchise qb but it is not happening.

Well they invested more in Bradford - who still only turns 29 next month - than they did in Bridgewater, so it's hard to say which one is their more valued "franchise" QB just based on who originally drafted whom. As much as fans may roll their eyes at the notion, it seems Sam Bradford is still viewed this way by teams, and it's why he carries this type of trade value and garners the type of contract Philadelphia was willing to offer him; that most teams see his main downside is the injury history not his QBing. Also teams don't trade away #1 picks so quickly; they are viewed through the optimistic lens as cheap multi-year (hopefully 5-10 yr) starters, not just a 1 year bandaid, even if it is at QB.

Though Bridgewater has put up respectable performances for a QB coming into the league, it remains to be seen that he's actually going to be a better QB than Bradford anytime soon.

What would concern me is if the Vikes are willing to part ways with Bridgewater so easily it means there could be a good reason why he's so available. I think Bridgewater's injury - in addition to it happening without contact - has them plenty spooked. It's not just a simple tear as Geno's seems to be. This was a dislocation plus the torn knee

Bridgewaters injury wasn't just an ACL....it was an ACL, MCL, LCL complete with a dislocation of the knee which usually also leaves someone with nerve damage. Thank God he didn't tear his Popliteal Artery or he could have lost his lower leg.

Bridgewaters return to the NFL is not guaranteed at this point.

"same as Geno" lol

For all we currently know, Geno's tear is mild enough he could still play with a brace, but this season is hardly worth that risk of further damage.

Bridgewater is lucky if he doesn't walk funny forever, have pain whenever it's cold out, lose a good half second or more on his 40 time, etc. It's not that all that will happen, but no one can rule it out until several months post-op.

That is why they gave up a 1 for Bradford; there's a good chance they need more than just a one-season patch. It also makes Bridgewater's trade value impossible to ascertain; he may have none at all.

Didn't see this posted before, but with teams looking for WR help, Marshall is certainly a nice bargaining chip.

Tampa Bay making a push to land a vet WR, sources said. Willing to move a pick and/or CB J. Banks or A. Verner for the right guy...
