I believe he actually recommended Bowles and communicated with him quite frequently last season. What happened this year? Like Parcells Bowles is stubborn, and won't put in the correct QB (1999 Ray Lucas, the Jets were the best team in the NFL after week 17, but because Parcells dragged his feet waiting to put in Lucas the Jets missed the playoffs), maybe just maybe Petty would have been the spark this team needed, it's to late now thou. Bowles is a fine coordinator but there are so many little things you have to be able to do when you're running a game and to be honest it doesn't seem like he can do any of them.
