After suffering in injury in Monday night’s 41-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Jets linebacker Julian Stanford has been waived according the team’s official site.

To replace Stanford, the Jets added the versatile yet underachieving Arthur Brown, a former second-round pick by respected Baltimore Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome.

After finding it difficult to get on the field at the University of Miami, Brown transferred to Kansas State where he would rack up 201 tackles (16 for loss) to go along with 3 sacks and 3 interceptions in two full seasons.  His play earned Brown a pre-draft grade of 90.3 from NFL.com.

Showing a skill set that led some to believe he could play either inside or outside in the pro’s, Brown was chosen with the 56th overall pick by the Ravens but he has still yet to start a single game in four years, playing mostly special teams before landing with the Jacksonville Jaguars where he played just six snaps on defense this season.
